Yeah I know its not an MM. Its not even an 05/06 stang. But, I finally got my wheel tire set up the way I like and I'm in love. This body style Mustang is my favorite. So, please indulge me and let me share some photos. I left the center caps out.
BTW, so why is a Mustang guy with no MM here at this site? Well, I came originally out of curiousity. I stayed because you guys come up with some good stuff that Mustangers don't. Plus, as Logan has stated previously, the comradery (sp?) is astongishing to me considering its such a public forum. I don't see it to this degree elsewhere.
Anyway, on to the pics.....

Nice car!! I like the body style, too, but not much for convertibles. A guy used to live down the street from me at our old place with a black '01 Cobra with the chrome Cobra R wheels on it and tinted windows. Looked and sounded AWESOME!!!!

I regret every day chosing a 2003 350Z over a 2003 black Cobra :depress:

Hey, Joe what's not to like? That's a beauty, and in wonderful condition.
A question, though, and not being a smart ass; but is that a Cobra? My '97 had "Cobra" on the rear facia, not Mustang. Howcome yours says Mustang, and were they all like that? :dunno:

I am pretty sure the exhaust was that low on the Cobras since it had to go under the IRS. The GT had the solid axle and went up over the axle.

Yes.. that is the standard configuration for Cobra exhaust. IRS rear end... the exhaust goes UNDER not up and OVER.

Then the MM.. and it's aftermarket S/C packages....
(No regrets)
Do you have the underhood and dash plaques for the car?

Ford got cheaper and cheaper each year and in the 00,01 (around that time - maybe a few more years) they just stuck a SVT badge on the trunk lid.
In 03 someone slapped some sense into them and they went back to the Cobra bumper and s/c. If I had a 00, 01, or 02 I'd cry each day that I didn't hold out for a 03 or 04.

Close, but not completely correct. 96-98 Cobras had Cobra imprinted on the rear bumper cover. In 99, Ford got cheap and used the Mustang GT cover and slapped on the SVT Cobra badge on trunk. People complained quite a bit (me included). There was no 00 Cobra except the 00R because of all the issues with the 99s. So, in 01, they returned Cobra to the rear bumper covers. It remained since then.

I'm not aware of any Cobras with an OE dash plaque. The driver's air bag has Cobra on it. The right valve cover has the signed plaque

As mentioned, it goes under the IRS. Its a Borla cat back. This pic is taken with me croutched down and down the slope of my driveway. Its almost an underneath pic. 99s were the first with the IRS.

Go to http://tinypic.com and up load them there. That's what I did here. I don't know how long the pictures will be kept. These free sites seem to disappear after a while.

YES nice car indeed! We were looking at a cobra but they were a little too pricey so settled for a GT instead. Traded it 10 months later for the 04 Marauder. Same performance better and more comfortable ride. Still like the Stangs though.

Very very nice. A friend of mine has a red 2003 GT Conv. that he has converted to a Mach1. I ask him everyday to sell it to me but he won't.:(
Hey Joe, how about a sound clip! Nice machine. What's the universal treadwear indicator value on that rubber, around 160? Very nice. That's one fine looking engine bay, too.

Thanks again all. In case I didn't mention it (I'm too lazy to look), the tires are BFG G-Force KDs - 265/35/18s on 18x9s front and 295/35/18s on 18x10.5s rear. BFG states the tread wear is 200. Tread depth is 9/32s for both. I don't really care how long they last. I put on about 1000 or so miles a year. They'll probably dry rot before I wear them out.
I don't have a sound clip of my set up. But, I have one of another 4.6L 4V with the same exhaust. It sounds pretty similar. Its at home. So, I'll post it later.

Hey Joe, how about a sound clip! ...
Here's the clip I have saved. Its the same set up as mine except I have a blown big bore. This clip is a 4.6L and I think N/A. Its pretty old. So, I don't remember anything else about it. Its a crappy bit rate too. Anyway, enjoy.
EDIT: The file is too large to attach here. I don't have a public place to store it at the moment. When I have it figured out, I'll post it.

Hey Joe, how about a sound clip!
All right, I figured it out. I guess I'm a little slow. Here's the sound clip. Its the same set up as mine except I have a blown big bore. This clip is a 4.6L and I think N/A. Its pretty old and its all I have. So, I don't remember anything else about it. Its a crappy bit rate too. It is a 4V 4.6L with BBK LTs, O/R X, and Borla mufflers. I think the mufflers are XR1s or something like that. I have just a Borla catback. I think the only difference is the XR1s are all steel wool and mine have some fiberglass. Anyway, enjoy.
