As many of you know, about 3 weeks ago I just got my car back from being repaired from a minor accident. What nobody knows is on monday i sc***** my freshly repainted front end against a curb. And what still fewer people know is tonight made that a moot point. The Marauder is finished. I am willing to bet anyone here the purchase price I paid for the car that the insurance company is going to total it out. I was on the parkway, hydroplaend into the cement divider, i bounced off of that across 5 lanes of traffic. I was hit about 4 times that i can remember maybe 5. Every impact sent me into another car. I no longer have a front end. My passenger side front door and rear panel have effectively been destroyed. The front passenger side tire is top in bottom out. She's done. all the other drivers of the other cars seemed ok, one guy was really cool about it and shared his umbrella with me, there was an older gentleman who was put on a backboard and was screamin at the paramedics cause he didn't wanna be on it, but i don't know of his condition, i hope he's ok. Please guys, I know it's common courtesy, just don't say "at least you're ok" cause at the moment i really don't sahre the sentiment. Just wanted to let everyone know. I don't know what i'm gonna do now cause i'm sure every insurance company in jersey is gonna jump at the chance for my business. It'll probly cost me 9K a year for liability ony on a pinto after this.

If I were you I would get that photo of a burnout off your post as this is a PUBLIC FORUM and many of the "wrong eyes" can form an opinion about your driving style??

No flames please............Just trying to help you with the insurance people!!

Martin, that really sucks man. I know you don't want to hear it, but glad your ok. Hang in there, once life seems to be in the gutter it can only get better. I have been there plenty of times myself with no light at the end of the tunnel then one day it turned around.

Good luck and don't be a stranger.

That sucks Martin.

I spun mine on a back road on the way home yesterday afternoon, and damned near put it in the creek at the Bethel & Fish Hatchery Road intersection after a somewhat spirited start.

The roads were very slick after yesterday's storm, and needless to say, I won't be turning off the traction control under those conditions again.

Hopefully you'll be able to find another MM as nice as the one you lost.

Martin, what you described is one of my nightmares. It must have seemed like an eternity that you got banged around. After the last major wreck I had, I felt kinda stunned for several days. Sorry it happened to you, man.

It did seem like it was forever, it was like pinball when the ball is bouncin off the bumpers. it was crazy. I don't know if i'll be able to get another Marauder if this one is totalled. If it is i'll be buying it back and removing parts. I'll take the driveline out and try for a used Vic, or older mustang then put all the Marauder stuff in there. Other than that I have a friend selling a low miles 6spd Z28, might do that, i really have no idea what i'm gonna do. I don't think i'll be able to afford a car payment with the new insurance premium i'm going to be facing soon. Sucks, i really loved this car too :(

Dont Fret, Your insurance company will total the car and will probably hand you a nice check for the value of the car. If I was you I would be looking for a Marauder that the check can cover and buy it outright to eliminate the car payment. Or if you are making payments on the Marauder you lost, you can re-finance for a few extra years now that the APR is low, and can use that extra money you save on your payment to pay for the increase on the insurance.

I know you dont want to hear it, But sorry about the loss. I couldnt imagine how I would feel if I was in your position.

I feelfor you. I totaled my 03 not to long ago. It's a very sad moment to loose a car that you liked. My insurance company took good care of me and I had enough money to buy the 04 I have now after kicking in a little extra. Hang in there, it might not be as bad as you think.

Well, i am making payments on the car, and what the insurance will pay me for a totalled car is not going to equal the amount i still owe on it. Luckily i did get the Gap insurance so i don't have to worry about making up the difference, but, if this is the case then i will start from square one. I will have no trade in, and mediocre down payment. I could see about borrowing my sisters 95 6-cyl mustang for a while and taking the money i used to use for payments and save it until i can make a down payment, although, i'm not sure how long this will take. That is why i was thinking of doing a transplant to a crown vic or something else. That might be the most economical thing for me to do at this point. I know that guy want's 6K for his Z28, it's a 93 but only has like 40K orig miles, so i don't know yet. Maybe i could get a T-bird and transplant all the InTech stuff into that. That could be a cool car. I don't even know at this point. Maybe the damage will be just the slightest bit under what would be needed to total it although i highly doubt it. There is, from what my untrained eye can see, EXTENSIVE frame damage to the passenger side. It really stinks. An adjuster will be contacting me soon to give me his estimate. Funny part is, i'm not sure which news i would rather hear, if it needs to be fixed it's gonna take forever to get back and i doubt it will be as good as it was before. If it's totalled out that sucks too cause i won't be able to afford another Marauder, even though i might be able to put it's heart and soul into something else, it just won't be the same.

Thanks everyone too, by the way, for all your kind words and thoughts. I'll be keeping everyone posted. I'll post pics when i can get them (probably saturday afternoon).

Sorry to hear about the accident, Martin. Damn, saw a Marauder wb 195 near GSP at about 8:30 am yesterday, thought it might be you. Glad you weren't hurt. Good luck with the insurance & replacement.
