I have seen 4 marauders in the last week. 3 on the north side of chicago. and one at the dealer I bought mine from. It was in the wash rack waiting for the new owner to pick it up. I left him some of polks cards to give to the new owner .:)

I was just talking to my salesman at a dealership in the northern burbs of Detroit. He says the cars have been selling, all they have on the lot is a 300A in the showroom. Since my last stop in there 2 weeks ago 4 blue ones, 5 black ones (300Bs I believe), and he said 6 silver ones earmarked for delivery soon are sold. I didnt realize the silver is part of the 75th anniversary or something. He also informed me that the dealership has sold more Marauders than any other in the country as well as Michigan having the distinction of having sold the most Marauders than any other state....although to this date....I have only seen 3 on the road and one a coworker bought.

How many are being bought from dealerships at those prices though. most still seem to be over $27K
Except those ones in KC, or wherever it was, of course.

The dealership I am talking about is only taking off the rebates, and thats it. So whatever you can get on a ford a, x, or z plan, and rebates is it.....I got the impression that there is a demand.

My local dealer has 5 MM's in stock. He has had these cars for at least 7 months with the newest being built in Sept.02. He told me they were selling (BS) and he has the same cars as when I started looking in Nov.02. They seemed to care less if they sold them and didn't really want to deal. They are all 300A's. John

Some dealers still think they are going to be getting above MSRP too. They want to sell the cars with "dealer added value" then take off the rebates.
Those are the dealers generally who still have Marauders

RC your probably right. The cars on the lot are costing the dealer money every month, you would think he would try and move them. John

When my first test drive fell through thanks to a deposit on the vehicle by someone else, we talked numbers. In Can $$, the dealer droid mentioned $46500 C with the potential for a *little* dealing.
The next night, I found a MM much closer to home, and arranged a test drive. Afterward, I mentioned price. He said "sticker = $48300 C". I mentioned the other dealer was offering a $46500 price. This second dealer laughed. He shook his head and said I'd NEVER get it at that price, it's an exclusive automobile. Nice customer service. I asked him nonetheless to ring up some numbers using that figure... he reluctantly did, adding "just in case we DID settle at that price, which will never happen" while rolling his eyes. :po:
I finally did get it for $43500 C and might have gotten a better price if I waited another month, but enough was enough. And all this from a MUCH nicer dealership outside of town, from much nicer people.
Side note: I ran into the current owner of that MM I test drove at a gas station a few blocks from my house. Older gentleman. I'm sure he paid that full sticker price, knowing the dealer s***.
Second side note: that first MM I spotted (at the dealership that initiateed things at $46500 C ) that had the deposit on it ended up being the MM with the funky paint I turned down last week at $43700 C. The guy who left the deposit (69 year-old fellow) was unable to convince his wife to trade up from the Grand Marquis. Funny how things turn out...
Third side-note: when the weather improves around here, I should drop by the local Ford dealership and wave to the slimy bastard who said I'd never get it below sticker price. :flamer:

My local dealer who is 2 miles from my home told me that nobody would ever sell me my MM at A-plan. I went 25 miles away bought at A-Plan. I drove by a week later and waved he almost fell of his chair.
