Getting ready to be tucked away for winter...
http://midwestpanthers.net/HARLEY.jpg
...So is it spring yet? Wish I could ride it now. Rode to school two weeks ago in say, 30*(F) weather. Only complaint was thicker gloves and needed to layer my pants :shake: Still Enjoyable and the hog only takes two hours to clean up! I've never really mentioned this toy, cept to Bradley@Dynopros really, this isn't a Harley forum :D I added a few goodies to it as well, you know, the goodies I should not have bought because I damn well knew my car insurance and car payment bill came the next week.
This is also the premiere of the first offical internet posted picture from my Sony-H1 Camera, anyone care for the 2592x1944 resolution version??

1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 (Real SS) Daytona Yellow & Black Vinyl
Hotchkis Upper A-Arms, F&R Sway Bars, 4.10 Gears, 3500 stall T/C - Turbo 350 Trans, Complete Dual Flowmaster 50 Exhaust System, Custom Audio Work, V1, and the real punch...
ZZ502 GM Crate :bows:
We rebuilt and saved the 396, still in our garage. We did in the install too, of course. It also came from the factory with power windows, floor shifter, bucket seats, A/C, power disk brakes, power steering, and the original radio is still in the dash although non-funtional due to the units in the glovebox. I've seen SS Chevelles with bench seats, why??
I get to drive it about once a year, other than that, I get to clean it.

Well, I will need to find pictures to post them, but we sold the bike last year during my job transition period. It was a 2001 Triumph Sprint ST that we bought new. It had 2 tooth lower front sprocket, factory 2 hard bag setup, Zero Gravity tinted windshield, Triumph Carbon fiber exhaust can, and updated tune. Very fun and comfortable bike.
But, since having the new baby and focusing more on family, I am not sure I will ever get another bike again. Just a change in priorities and seeing too many people killed lately - stupid riders and stupid drivers. Just not worth the chance.
So, instead, we have started thinking of getting a boat for family fun time and vacations... Something different.

There are a lot more riders here than I realized, awesome
Anyone care to share some near hit stories? Horrible that we have these, but it really puts into perspective some of the people that can get licensed on the road.

Well, I have a personal close call story. Let me first start by saying I started out riding the dumb way - hopped on my first bike, rode away with no licnese. Then lost the tranny in that one and sold it. First bike was a beat up 1986 Kawasaki Ninja 600. Then got a "better" bike for my next one - 1989 Honda Ascot 500. No power, OK handling, and great learner bike. Also the bike I took the riding test with and actually got my license. Then had a '84 Nighthawk 650 then another, pristine '86 Ninja 600.
Well, I was 18 when I got my first bike and 20 when I got the last Ninja. Was young, dumb, and rode above my ability numerous times. Well, one fine summer evening was heading to dinner with a girl on the back and 2 friends in the car next to me. We both got on it, me winning, until a girl ran a stop sign pulling off a frontage road right in front of me. The last thing I remember was hitting the rear of her car, being thrown off the bike and thinking I needed to tuck my head to proctect it - no helmet.
I came to with the girl on the back of the bike sitting next to me and the county sheriff outlining my body on the street for the accident investigation. Spent 2 days in the hospital - scraps, bruises, concussion, etc. LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. Swore I would never ride a motorcycle again.
Well, it was 3 years later and I finally got on a bike again and I ride with a completely different attitude and watch out much more for stupid drivers. But now having a wife, 8 year old step-daughter, and 5 1/2 month old baby girl, priorities have changed and currently wouldn't be hurt if I never rode again. But that is just me. I like bikes, I like riding and being out and away from everything, but just don't like other motorists. Oh well...

Cool, another V4 in the house. I've got an 84 V65 Sabre, and an 89 LX Convertible.
I guess I like the oddball rides. My Sabre was also made in low numbers, and only two years, in 84 and 85.

2) Triumph Speed Triple 955i
3) Ducati 996 - one of the most beautiful motorcycles ever
4) New style Honda Goldwing for Cadillac like touring
5) Late-'60's Triumph Daytona
6) MTI Turbine bike like Jay Leno has!!!

I do miss it so much, probably will go and sell it this spring, dont seem to get over there much anymore to ride it. Really hate to as its my first 'real' bike and its just so perfect. Plenty of torque, docile when I want it to be, just plain mean when I want it be. And you can ride this thing for hundreds of miles and never get tired.
I thought of replacing with a Triumph Speed Triple, just love the sound of that motor!

I got a 2005 FLHTCI Harley and last april, some guy made a left in front of me as I was doing about 60. I hit the rear of his truck and was deflected into oncoming traffic, hit the side of a van (totalled it) and then hit the front of a pickup and did $3800 in damage with my body alone. Bounced over the truck and landed about 35 feet behind him, face down and motionless and was 'out' for about 5-10 minutes. Helo flight out. Concussion, slight skull fractures, little bleeding on the brain, separated shoulder, three herniated disks in neck, knee, ankle, etc. Now, eight months later, have neck probs and memory probs. Still count my blessings though (and go to church every sunday!) cause it could have been worse. I had a good half helmet on that saved me too. I cannot believe this guy did not see me on a full dresser, headlight on, and in broad daylight.
Word of advice: Please take an extra second to double check before you pull out. Thanks.

Take care of that neck. My motorcycle injury was about 12 years ago and is the only injury I have ever had over the years that would effect my neck. Over the years I have woke up with my fair share of "pinched" nerve feelings in my neck, but chalked it up to stress and not sleeping well.
Well, I got one again and 2 weeks ago that has not gone away. Very painful and makes my hand go numb at times. Even worse after carrying the baby around. Went to the doctor and they found a bone spur on one of my disks and my spine at my neck is perfectly straight and the doctor said it should have a slight curve to it. Right now he is chalking the current pain up to stress and pinched nerve and has me on pain killer and muscle relaxer - which I can only take at night due to my daily commute. But if that doesn't help, time to go in for an MRI. And any problems I have had like this didn't start until after the accident.
Then again, you could get a neck injury from a car wreck, too. Just saying take care of that neck. and I never ride without full gear any more: Helmet, jacket, boots, at least jeans, and gloves. I don't look down on others that choose to wear something less, but I got lucky once and would rather be protected.
And for the middleweight Triumph Triple: HOT!!! I am glad they are sticking in there offering something to compete against the fast, but cookie cutter Japanese bikes. I love the sound of the twin and triple - Ducati and Triumphs sound awesome.

WHOA, nice recovery.
I just had some ***** in a volvo move into my lane on a drawbridge. I beeped at her, she looked over and kept coming. 10 years ago she would have lost a taillight and a sideview mirror and 10 years off her life!!
