Detroit news. Interesting article, but nothing about a high perf. Merc in the future...

I thought that Ford may be able to go after the SRT8's with a hot rod CV, bring out the Blackhawk idea (stay away from the Mercury and Linncoln brands and sell it along side Mustangs), but considering the cost to upgrade interiors to be competitive with the 300C and Charger, I can see there's no incentive for Ford to do this. They make bushels of cash on GM's and lesser size bushels on CV's, and the Marauder flopped because of criminally poor marketing, a price point set too high, and clueless, greedy dealers.

Having seen the interiors of both, there wouldn't be much to "upgrade" if at all.

This is true...all Ford would have to do is copy the Marauder interior for the next car.

What really hurt Marauder was lack of horse power!

Too small an engine!
