Okay, I haven't gotten my Xcal 2 programmer yet, but what I don't understand is how can you custom tune and use a specific tune like a DR tune? Like I was under the impression that I can make the richer and leaner decisions and the gears and such. For instance with a DR tune can I have it so I can turn off the Traction Control?

My advice would be to PM or call Dennis directly to get specific answers to your questions.

Definitely call Dennis. When I installed my xcal2 DR tune a couple months ago, I saw afterward that there were a group of parameters I could fiddle with myself such as wheel revolutions, rear gear ratios - can't remember all the others. I haven't changed the "standard" DR settings yet, but I do still need to adjust for increased tire size to correct the speedo.

Do you need to be running the Pro Racer program?

Why dont we make a sticky about the xcal 2 since there seems to be a lot of questions. It would list all the functions the non pro racer has and a how to use them. For ex: a bit on how to use the dataloging. Or to change something in your tune like gears, do you need the tuner to unlock something when you get it from him? What sct program do you need to dwl for your computer and how to make the gear changes? The same could be repeated for every capability of the Xcal 2 It seems like a lot of people have the Xcal 2 and many are unclear on how to change certain aspects of their tune. With all the Xcal 2 users we have I'm sure we could get most of this info and that it would help out a lot.

Those are options built into the xcal2 hardware unit itself. I have been far too lazy lately to load software on my laptop and hook it to the xcal. Being the geek I am, I will have to do it eventually. Perhaps after the holidays I will get a day all to myself to play with Blue Thunder. Oh yeah, I also remembered where you could change the speed limiter. You can set it as low as 60 MPH or remove it completely. DR's tune sets the speed limiter to Off. HHmm... since you guys have so many questions, next time I play with it I will try to capture video for you.

I guess what I want to know is, can I keep the DR Tune and just change other things right there in my hand to my preference?
