View Full Version : Picture of window tint

I know that I saw a picture of someone's car in this forum a while back with the front window partially tinted with a strip of tint at the top, but I can't seem to find it now. Does anyone know where it is or have any other photos they would like to share?

I'm going to get my windows tinted, but I'm not sure if I want the partial 6" tint at the top or none at all on the front window.

Thanks in advance!

Seems like Mensrea's car (KB Marauder-S) has something like that:

But now that I see it again - that's probably not what you're looking for...

I was told when I got mine done that that strip will hinder the directional unit. fyi

I think he means the compass. John

D'OH!

Is the compass in the Marauder not magnetic? How would a strip of window tint affect it?

The window tint will NOT affect the directional unit a/k/a compass.

Did they also tell you to rotate the air in your tires??

I can understand why they would tell you the compass may not work right, many window films have some metallic particles in them. These films also will interfere with the "thru the glass" type cell phone antennas. So the compass thing is not that far fetched.

The metallic particles in window film, even the relflective kind, are almost always aluminium, which is non-magnetic and shouldn't affect a compass...

At the time I was experiencing some brain malfunction, couldnt remember the word compass. Just trying to share what I was told by the guy who did my windows, who also happens to be a good friend.

As of today, my transmogrifying disfibulator works properly, and I have freshly rotated the air in my tires..

Did you remember that the Marauder has directional air in the tires? If you counter-rotate the air, it loses its agility...
