Imagine you've won a huge lotto, $300 million or more. You can only have 5 cars at your dream castle. What would they be?

I'll start:

1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible (Pink woud be cool)
Lancia Stratos
Lamborghini Muira II
Mercedes Benz S 600
Aston Martin Vanquish

Hard to beat that grouping!!!!...Give it a try with AMERICAN iron.

Here's my list:

1) 1977-1978 Trans Am
2) 1987-1990 Trans Am GTA
3) 1998-2002 Trans Am Ram Air WS6
4) 1969 Firebird 350 (I hate the scooped "400" hood - honest!)
5) A trouble-free 2003-2004 Mercury Marauder

So far, I'm not doing too badly (well, in reality, 3 out of 5 *shrug*)

I'm not BSing on this list, actually, I'm being 100% truthful in my selection. My ideal cars do not have to be exotic to give me visual orgasms...

(if I was allowed to have 5 'garage cars' and one (or more) regular duty cars, I'd probably move the Marauder out of 5th place and replace it with a 1969 Charger V8 with orange paint, "01" painted on the doors and a confederate flag on the roof, and keep the Marauder as a daily/winter/family driver)

2004 Mercury Marauder

I already have two on the list, the 67 Vette's next, followed by the GTO. The '66 GT-350 conv. is just wishful thinking.

I'd consider the M3 as a replacement for the MM, and was going to put it on the list instead, but all in all, I don't think there's a better road car than the MM to be had, at any price; although, the M3's a great car, and very tempting.

That should do it.

If there's any money left, I'd build a tube chassis 1978 Mercury Zephyr Station wagon. White w/simulated wood trim. It'd have a heavily modified twin turbo '04 Mustang Cobra drive train with at least 800 HP. Why? I would need a "sleeper" for street "driving". Hmm, I see the makings of a classic film car crash scene...
Corvair racing down the boulevard, swerves to avoid Pacer crawling out of a parking spot (at WOT), oversteers into oncoming traffic right in front a Gremlin which goes airborne and lands on a Pinto, which immediately blows the whole setup six ways from Sunday.

The Aztek? Ummm... well, it'll probably show up in the blooper reel...

David, I guess you mean the M3 and not the MM is too rice. Your point about the euro thing, is why I don't have one; but year after year, it's picked as one of the world's best. I'd like to, at least, drive one of 'em, just to see for myself. One of my pals had an '88 M3; it was a buzzing, screaming little turd. I was not impressed.

Your question about the Mustang? That motor's the "K" code 289cu in, 271hp solid lifter.

The 58 Impala was a very interesting and nice car, and a great choice; but never was an SS. The SS versions didn't come out until '61, I think.

BTW, the 58 Impala was the car Ron Howard drove in American Graffiti.

Yes, he drove slightly different models though. The first, seen on the show's beginning credits was a 1979 308 GTS. Later he drove a 1981 308 GTSi, and in the last couple seasons, a 1984 308 GTS QV. All slightly different, but you can tell the GTS QV because of the black in the louvres on the hood, and the black 'spoiler' over the engine. All were 'Ferrari Red' with removable tops.

Note the different hood:

No one has picked the Ferrari 288 GTO yet? Difficult to tell from the 308 except that the 288's mill is north-south (not east-west)and comes with twin turbo's.

With $300+ Million that decision should be easy. Of course I'd put a 428 in my 288 GTO and keep the turbos. The Ferrari purists would put a contract out on me though....:P

All cars are actually somewhat obtainable... Maybe not collectively, but I'm working on it(have 3/5, though the Z28 is a long-term project).

For me, it is mandatory that I fit it in, so pretty much anything euro, japanese, or 'supercar' is automatically out:

2001 Ford SVT Lightning - The one I have now, with some cash to upgrade where required
1971 Chevy Chevelle SS - red with black stipes, black interior and black vinyl top (454, of course)
1970 Dodge Challenger RT - Wild Plum Crazy (purple) ext. black inside - 440 Hemi required
1980 Chevy Camaro Z28 - I have the shell, who wants to give me the 572 crate engine and shoehorn?
2003 Mercury Marauder - I love this as a daily driver, but would use the money for some upgrades

I am going to make an assumption here that I can keep what I already have and add 5 from there. If that is the case, I would definitely take some cash and throw it at the Marauder to make it what it should be (Trilogy, Addco, Metco, Kooks, Stereo, etc).

But here is what I would add, in no specific order:

1) 2006 Mercedes Benz S65 AMG (I like 4 doors)
2) 2006 Corvette (LPE TT Stage 3)
3) 1989 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC AMG (like the one in Road House)
4) 1997 Porsche 911 TT S
5) 1994 Porsche 928 GTS (manually tranny, of course)

That is the top list, and then there are the ones that would come next and some that the wife would want:

6) 2005 Porsche Carrera GT
7) Unique Performance Super Snake
8) Ford GT
9) '91 Porsche 928 GT that would get stroker motor, supercharger, suspension, etc
10) 1955 Porsche 550
11) 2006 Formula 382 FasTech boat
12) '06 Ford F350 dually with PSD to pull #11

And, of course, the appropriate heated/cooled, lift, power tool and dyno equiped storage/shop location to keep all of the above together.

It's cool to see such a diverse selection of a cars here. I had to think about this for awhile. If I had the cash, here's the 5 I'd pick to add to my stable:

1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 (Black, Group A WTC spec, 500 bhp)
1986 Ford RS200 Evo (Black, Group B WRC spec, 650 bhp)
1969 Ford Boss 429 Mustang (Black)
1972 Pontiac LeMans Sport Convertible (Metallic Gold, My parents' first car)
2006 Ford Falcon FPV GT-P (Australian Ford)

Of course to make the last one road worthy, I'd have to buy 2 so that the government can crash test one of them and 'cause I got the money, convert it to LHD.

Imagine you've won a huge lotto, $300 million or more. You can only have 5 cars at your dream castle. What would they be?
2006 Bugatti Veyron 16.4 (and unlimited use of the track at Wolfsburg, GE)
2003 Mercury Marauder (in Blue, of course)
1968 Dodge Charger R/T (all black)
1958 Ford Edsel (2 tone with enough spare parts to keep it on the road)
1948 Tucker (preferably in red or green)

I'll start:

1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible (Pink woud be cool)
Lancia Stratos
Lamborghini Muira II
Mercedes Benz S 600
Aston Martin Vanquish

this is a cool thread:cool: ; you got full class participation from everyone in this...but i'll give my 5 cars...

Mercury Marauder with all the fixings
96 Chevy Impala with all the fixings
2006 Charger SRT-8 (this should've been the specs the Marauder had from the factory)
2003 Bugatti 16/4 Veyron (top speed 252 mph...never been in a vehicle that fast but like to experience it)
Mercedes Benz S65 AMG (everyone definitely has to check this one out)

I've held back my reply because I'm wanting to get this right....

I'm also allowing myself to mod any of my choices over time, hell I got $300million to play with....

Not listed in order or anyhting like that...

1932 Ford Highboy Roadser, all steel,Hot Flathead powered but with a modern 5spd trans and Haibrand or Winters Quick change rear.Low back "WWII bomber"style seats and a SCTA Legal roll cage so I can run it on the salt!

2006 Ford GT in Gulf Colors. Retuned of course so it will live on open road races like the Silver State and Texas 100.Saftey equipment as required.

My 1967 Mustang I sold in 1985 not one like it!That one.The search will be a part of the car of course. It Had a '69 428cj and 4spd.The FE will stay but be bumped to 500+ci and be backed by a Gerico 4spd for the track and a TKO 5spd for the street. If that car is dead then I'll go with a 68 Fastback built as above but I'll drop the coin on a real "R" code.

Now I come to the daily driver section and this is the hardest choice to make so I'll default to what my freind did,yes he has gobs of $$.
I'm a Ford Guy so I'll go with a Crew cab F150.Whatever Special edition is out of course mid level options, nothing special.

My last choice is a towing rig and this is also tough but I think I'll go with one those huge Renigades you see at the races. You know a motor home thats built on a Semi chassie and at lest a 30ft trailer.

Thats my list but being I'm married my wife will have 10 choices so I will have the likes of Lamborginni,Porche,Ferrari,BMW ,Mercedes,Lexus,Infiniti,Humme r,VW,and Chevrolet to chose from when she drives.:D
