I received and installed my new rear Addco sway bar yesterday. I tested the car out on a back road w/ some twisties and was pleased with the cars slow to moderate performance.

On the clover leaf entrance ramp to the highway, the car is night and day! Mo more pitch to the left. It tracks as if it is on rails!

No squeaks growns or rattles.

I meet up with some co-workers for a meeting. My partner and I then drove to a friends house for an evening snack. He parked his car and I parked the MM. We got out and I had that stupid ":D " on my face. He said "What?" inquisitivly (sp?). I replied "Ah, that happens all the time when I get outta that car".

Congrats the addco! Do you have the front yet? A must-have. I wonder how my car handles with 18" wheels on it...I've forgotten....winter needs to end...

I do not have the front sway bar. No flames to those who do, but in my digging aka research, I found the front is good enough for my needs. I also do not want to reduce the weight transfer to the rear for the once-in-awhile- trip to the drag strip. I read the heavy sway bar will do that.

I may do it later, but for now I'm happy.

I cannot speak for weight transfer, but can speak on both bars installed.

The handling characteristics have improved 100%. :banana2:

And do agree that there is no more sluggishness in cornering and feels like rails are below it's feet!

Worth it's weight in gold, IMHO.

Great mod. Especially for the low cost. :)

Mike.

Any increase in harshness over rough pavement?

My parents' neighborhood's road network resembles Beirut in the 80s, possibly not as smooth (bad municipal management). I'll be spending a lot of time getting to and from my parents' once my wife goes back to work.

The bars did not affect the ride, IMHO.

I run ~38 psi. in my tires and did not feel a difference in the ride after the install.

The bars are neutral when going straight. Only in cornering are they under a load.

Mike.

BTW, with the bars installed, you will see and feel a noticable improvement while dodging them holes in those not so perfect roads.

I agree about the straight line thing, but I was thinking there would also be some input from the sway bars on irregular pavement. (ie. two wheels travelling up/down at different rates and at different total deflections?)

I wasn't able to tell a difference.

Maybe someone else has :dunno: .

When I went from stock bars w/ rubber bushings and endlink grommets to addcos w/ poly bushings and endlink grommets, I noticed the car rode rougher over uneven roads. This was a 98-02 Panther of course.

Too bad we can not just purchase poly bushings for the stock front/rear sway bars. They make a big difference by themselves. Starting to plan 06's mods and after rear gears/shiney hiney, suspension is next. Provided I resist the temptation to retire... ;)

How'd those mods go in 2006 Ray? :D Hey Mike, by now you must know, is it a little rougher on harsh roads?

I installed the rear Addco bar and what a big difference it makes with handling ,and it does affect ride on uneven roads or potholes .But worth it for sure .Happy for now with the front OEM bar thickness.

I'm thinking of going back to the stock front for the aforementioned weight transfer issue.
Seeing as how I have NO traction until well into 2nd on the 1320.

I shall indeed!

So would get the rear addco and leaving the front stock be the best for track and road in your opinion?

Rapper, I live in the south end of the county, but I'm at my SC home for the winter. Where did you find a MM around Madison Co.? Rare as hens teeth.

The Addco front is heavy enough to impact weight transfer?

It's not the weight of the new bar. I'm guessing it's the way torque is transferred all around the frame to get traction to the rear. ???

I have been told you can disconnect them at the links at the strip and notice a difference.

From multiple sources: http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&title=Sway-Bar-Shenanigans&A=112694

Per the rear-wheel drive section
If you are getting wheel spin when powering out of the corner you have gone to stiff on the rear.

Maybe because it allows the front end to release more easily and transfer the weight to the back tires.

So I see that yall are happy with the sway bar and control arms....but are they easy to install...I have a sway bar and need new control arms in the rear....was looking to get the sparta control arms.

How hard are they to put in?

Sway Bar = easy

Control arms = a little harder. Should use a torque wrench when installing.

yeah i tightened my control arms real snug. because the che arms i got has a spacer in the middle and it said you can crank them down and it still moves freely. Is that wrong on my part. I dont have a torque wrench of course. would just like a little feedback.
