WTF is a sick day?

My boss was kind enough to release our department early the Friday before Christmas. Only one problem.

He neglected to tell me.

After about 90 minutes wondering why I was the only one in our department still around (since we have 2,000 employees at this location, I figured everyone was out roaming the halls wishing Merry Christmas to all) I decided to leave.

He's lost my vote for boss of the year.
