4.10's from Dennis, come with kit?

I ordered but not received the 4.10 gears from Dennis. One shop I contacted said they could do the install, but asked if I also had the installation kit,bearings, etc..

did any of you have to bring anything else to the shop to have the gears installed besides lubes?

Dennis did my gears. The only thing he changed was the ring & pinion. You keep everything else the same. I took in Mobil 1 synthetic gear lube for him to use.

Some shops try to say that berrings and "Install Kit" is needed and they arn't. My with 7000 miles on it didn't. Just be careful.

The gears that Dennis sent had the additional bearings, but they weren't used. The car only had 3500 mles on it when I had the gears swapped. The shop said they weren't needed.

A lot of the Mustang guys have been told they needed to replace the bearings because they were pitted. I don't know if that is true or whether the shop is trying to make an extra buck. If the shop says you need bearings replaced, make sure you get them back and have them show you why.

does it make a difference when you install 4.10's gears. Low mileage vs. higher mileage?
