OK. Due to popular demand and some requests like the one above and others who contacted me. I've put together a pitch for Nashville. Thanks to Mary for her suggestion in putting a proposal together. We also have a few Nashville-area Marauders who are members besides myself, though they mostly lurk on the boards.

Dates are flexible, since I haven't had a chance to clear up any scheduling conflicts. I understand that most of the dragstrip folks would like a late fall date. Let me know what you think of this itinerary for a Thurs.-Sunday schedule.

Hotel accomodations are plentiful, since Nashville is a convention-oriented city. Once we arrange a track, we can pick out hotel options.

Day 1: Arrive in Nashville
In the afternoon: a drive on the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway w/ lunch at historic and newly restored Loveless Café. Another option would be a visit to our new Country Music Hall of Fame.

Day 2: Get to know Jack
Tour the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg -- A 90-minute drive from Nashville. Clean cars after touring back at the hotel. Then Dinner & possibly Dancing at Nashville's famed Printer's Alley or 2nd Avenue attractions, which include Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, the Wild Horse Saloon, B.B. King’s Blues Club & Bar, the Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar and many more.

Day 3: At the track
Three options for racing or track/event hosting (I have not contacted any of these venues for pricing or availability yet, but most have had special events or are available for rentals.)

Music City Raceway (Dragstrip)
An NHRA sanctioned 1/8-mile dragstrip 20 miles north of Nashville.

Please feel free to write up a proposal. Don't be shy. if you would be willing to "host" the National meet, sit down and sketch out some details. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, mary, or dave. We have all been through this and will be glad to offer tips and pointers.

NOTE!!!

Please submit your plan ASAP. People need to know when and where it is so vacation time can be planned

We plan on having the fastest Marauders in the country in Atl for that weekend.

You could have MV in conjunction. If you don't mind flogging a few Chevys at the strip.
