put some Dynamat under the carpet, then make the exhaust mods of your choice.

You can get the "Tips" delete package from Wes. It's exactly the same manufacturer as our exhaust tips, without the resonators. Just add an inch or three and make 'em stick out the back a little further than stock, and the dreaded drone will mostly go away.

Haggis posted a wonderful thread about how he did it.:)

Hey great idea about the dynamat.
Ever used it? I haven't but am interested..
Be a great thing to do when a speaker upgrade is done too, right?

I haven't used it,... yet. I was thinking about it for my next speaker upgrade as well.

Only one problem I can think of though,... it'll add a lot of weight if you go from front to back.

MartyO could prob'ly shed some light on this,..... Marty?

I have K&N and Magnaflows/stock tips and interior is slightly audible under light accel over 2k under 4k and louder in car under "Spirited Driving Mode" At idle it changes the tone but voulme stayed the same. My winter idle is 1100 Rpms. I have 2 clips but the 3rd one is inaccesable(inside rev no load) to me till tomorrow when I get off work.

Dynamat is what I used on my last car's loud as hell exhaust. I did the entire trunk and back seat. If you take the entire car route, don't forget the wheel wells. It will weigh you down if you pull carpet and do the entire interior but being it's a V8 it won't be extremely noticable.

Dynamat is the schizzle!
I've used it on several cars including the aluminum floor pans and rear wheel wells of my 427 Cobra.
I applied it with a heat gun and a wooden roller.
It will mute some of the exhaust noise.
It kills most road noise and makes the car feel rock solid.
It also makes your stereo system seem clearer & louder because ambient noise is reduced.
Only two drawbacks:
It is expensive stuff.
It is very heavy.

^^^EXACTLY^^^

Want to improve sound, one step at a time?

Start here. And make sure you push the new pipe (out) out atleast flush to bumper end.

Marty has the power and torque to push around a wheel barrel of dynomat and not break a sweat. :burnout:

I can't do that.:depress:

That crap adds a lot of weight.

yes but compared to the 4 cyls I owned it's not "as Bad" as it could be. It depends on how loud the exhaust or well dampen you want the car to be. I did the trunk, under back seat and heat shields under the car where the mufflers were.
