Drove down to Mesquite , Tx. to see the road show. Met one of the Ford reps and he invited me to pull my MM into the factory car display line. The show was sponsored by the Vintage V8 Club and show cars were all flat -heads.They had about 60 cars there and every one was a winner. The club members allowed me to get photos of my MM and their cars together---most prized shot, my 2003 MM nose-to-nose with a black early production 1939 Mercury convertible!!!! I could not believe how disinterested and uninformed the factory reps were--knew nothing about the MM--I gave them a brochure---funny, the MM was prominently shown on their bill-boards. I really can't figure out who would pick such poor spokespersons for a National tour. Ford had a Thunderbird, BIG red pick-up and a red SVT Cobra Mustang for their display vehicles. I'll have to review my pictures for a list of Mercs there. Sure would like to hear comments from others that have seen the "show". I was very pleased at the reception the MM got--wasn't surprised that only about 1/3rd of the people even knew it existed--Mercury Publicity--Where the H--- are you????????

If you were trying on purpose to kill a car and possibly a division
you would do what these knuckleheads are doing. Nothing they have done makes any sense as far as trying to sell cars. Look what they did to the Cougar name. Was once a proud luxury performance car.......the last version the ricers didnt even want.
If Mercury goes the way of Oldsmobile and Plymouth......don't be surprized. And it will be a damn shame.:puke:

Wolfe, you're right --I've never seen anything so poorly handled ---was reading the card I got with my jacket order form and was surprised to find there is a "Mercury Marauder Headquarters" and the card was signed "Elana Ford, Mercury Group Brand Manager". Has anyone tried to contact her--I'm ready to try if no one has -been buying their cars since '49 and think I have a right to complain. I'll try to find her in the Company directory anybody got any other ideas to wake thesepeople up??????????????
