O.K., I did my research from prior posts and am still a bit confused. Mortorcraft, NGK, Bosch, Denso ???
What I've gathered:
OEM if you are bone stock
1 step cooler if your just tuned
2 steps cooler if you're more modded.
I take it we want Platinum or Iridium, which is better?
Price range from $2.69 to $12.99 each.!!!!
Single elctrode, Double electrode, Quad electrode ????
I only have an SCT tune and "Super Duty" coil connectors.
I Had one plug 'under water' on the right bank against the fire wall. Coil cover must have let road water get into the far rear plug well. (Salt, dirt & water).
I am looking for suggestions to take full advantage of what I have. I am thinking 1 step colder.
Could use part numbers for those who have had great success with their choices.
Thanks...

Joe,
My 2 cents.
I use Denso's IT20's for SCT tune and (180 stat.)
Stock IT16
Tune IT20
Super Charged IT22
They have a much larger spark ball and unique Iridium alloy.
I gap to 50. Do this with much care.
Dennis R. has good price for us.
Enjoy,
Warren

I use the NGK's one heat-range cooler. IMHO I don't think the Denso's are worth the greatly increased cost unless you are SC'd, just my opinion, don't want to start a plug war..... I also have the 180 stat and a DR / CP Racing tune. You may want to look into getting the GMS coil wires from Inovative Interceptors. Before you put the coil covers back on make sure the gasktes are in the right place and I add a small dab of high temp silicone at the rear of the covers where the wiring harness goes.

Thanks Guys. I already have the GMS Coil wires from Wes. During install I found the submerged plug. What a mess. I think it wise to go 1 step cooler. Keeping my T-stat OEM for now. I'll see how things go in the Summer with the tune.
What is the OEM T-stat set at? 195?
I am interested in the comment about "Racing Tune" What criteria make it that. I have adjusted my shift points & pressure, and increased richness by 4% at WOT. I need to learn more about this tuner I have.
No more turning mixture screws, I like that...

Have a part number on the one range cooler NGKs?

I talked to Lidio about the Iridium plugs and (I hope he doesn't mind me saying) he was unable to show any improvements with them over a similar heat range traditional plug. So, IMO, they are a waste of money. I use one step colder Motorcraft copper plugs. They won't last as long as platinums. But, that's fine with me. Most of those fancy plugs such as multiple electrodes are snake oil. I've heard a lot of complaints about that one plug with 4 electrodes on corral.net.

I have used the stock ones, the Densos and the cooler copper Motorcrafts; I supposed you could also buy .99 cent plugs made in China and they also would work.
My point is since the car will run with a plug of any price, what do you feel your car is worth? I don't buy the cheapest of anything for my car. Find a price you are comfortable with. Correct heat range and gap is more important than the price.

Stock T-Stat is 188 degrees.
I have run NGK Copper core TR6 w/good results.
I am now running Autolite XP103 - iridium fine wire with the factory gap for NA w/DR tune. Very happy w/results!
