Kinda neat. Plug your 1/4 mile numbers in [for those of you that have actually raced your car] and your car's weight and it gives you a RWHP figure.

Excluding driver weight :o it's pretty darn close. 454 rwph from ET and 457 from mph. To show my idiocy, what's brake hp?

The HP it gives me is a bunch more than I've dynoed....347rwhp vs 317rwhp dyno
What weight have you plugged in...4400lbs?, 4500lbs?
Maybe I'm very good at the drag strip....;)

370 rear wheel horsepower for my LS1's 107.6 mph trap speed? I don't think so...
(dyno'ed at 310 rear wheel hp)
The spread between the ET-based rwhp and the MPH-based rwhp for my particular car shows it's not suited to today's modern motors (with torque curves slightly different than pre-90s motors).

Right on the money for my car, it says 419 RWHP and I just recently dynoed it at 412.
I checked my Camaro's numbers and it was very close as well, 748 engine HP.

Brake Hp is measured at the crankshaft.

Pretty exact based on ET, 400 rwhp. Way off base on trap speed, 439 rwhp.

Since the calculator put mine at 545-548 hp at the crank, it must figure in about 17% power train loss. Is that pretty typical for an automatic transmission?

Yep. I usually figure our drivetrain eats up about 20%.
