I've had her up to about 65, around that. My speedometer may have been off and I was not able to confirm it by GPS, but I could tell, she still had some throttle left. I didn't feel like pushing my luck.

:bs: I'm sure you've hit 70 every once in a while.

What would be top speed, stock gears, with a chip or tune to eliminate the fuel cutoff?

Master Yoda???:D

One time I was racing a Mazda RX-8 on the turnpike and i looked down and saw my speedo at like 115 so i took a pic of it with my camera phone 'cause, up until then, that was was the fastest i had ever gone. I just looked all over for the pic but can't find it, it had my tach in there too so that woulda shown you what rpms woulda been. I used to cruise at around 80 and mine always hung right are 2400-2500 or something like that, IIRC that is

My thoughts exactly .... Ain't no way you are gonna save enough on MPG to pay off those speeding tickets.

BTW ... Welcome to the MM.Net. :welcome1:

I believe a stock MM is limited to 119 or 120. I've done a buck 35 with plenty left to go. I believe I read that DR setup the FHP MMs to be 150 capable.

IMHO, screwing around with a camera phone while driving triple digits is begging for a reservation on the slab. :shake: Things happen so fast at that speed you really need to be concentrating on whats down the road.

Agreed Ray Jay. Although I am thinking about how I can rig something to photograph a 140 MPH pass.....

No guts - No glory....

Just need to be sure my life insurance is paid up.

Oh, and can we disable the 'Black Box' ?

reflashing the pcm would do that right? or would it take a few drive cycles?

Interesting question about the black box. I can see where a life insurance company would have interest in the final data.

Not really, 1 3/4 hrs over what I consider back roads. Let me know if you are in the Syracuse - Utica area.

Ive had my speedo close to 140 before. a little vibration, but straight and smooth otherwise. Stock it cut out at 116. I have 4.10s by the way.

I'm not sure what the top speed would be but at 100mph the tach should be just shy of 3K rpm, with a stock rear. There is no fuel economy past 80mph, at none worth speaking of.

Got mine to 140 day after this New Years. 3.55's with tune from Dennis. It would be nice if the speedo went higher because it acted like there was just a bit more left.
I don't think I'll try to test my car much unless I get a curious cop to clock me w/o retributions.
You know, as you tempt yourself further and further you'll eventually find out what the car will do.

The "Black Box" is the Restraint Control Module (RCM) and once triggered with Airbag deployment is non-volatile. So no, is the answer.
