It's a bit confusing, doing it this way, but, to me, it seems the easiest.
I don't think Flowmasters will hurt your fuel economy, but from other discussions, believe if you've added a performance chip (likely) that could hurt it. Also, have you gone to 4:11 or lower rear end ratio? All of the above can conspire to take a toll on fuel consumption, but frankly, many of the guys aren't reporting milage much different from yours.
Tell us more about your setup and perhaps the brain trust can help you out.
By the way, welcome, young feller!:welcome:

Hi Frank, Welcome aboard. I had a similar set up with 4.10's and a SCT tuner. My combined was about the same. I expect that you are about right. These cars are not light weight with skinney tires and a sleek COF. The more power you add the less mileage seems to matter:D Good luck. Dennis

That's not bad gas mileage for "combined" driving. I drive 65 miles to work (one-way) with the cruise @ 73 MPH (divided 4-lane highway with only a couple of lights). When I check over 1000 miles or so of this driving, it's always at 20-21 MPG.

Try pushing down on the "go" pedal like there's an egg under it.
Seriously, I get 18-19 in combined highway / local driving. If I keep the cruise control set at 7-8 miles over the speed limit I can get 20-21MPG.
See my sig for the mods I've done.

actualy intake and exhaust mods do rob you of MPG. When your car was stock...were you as temped to floor it to gear the intake or exhaust? I know the second I get anywhere past 2200, I'm biting my lip just fighting the temptation! When I do fight the tempation my fuel range is 390 miles (miles@ 16.57) @ 16.53 gallons refilled

I'm pretty much stock (flowmasters and pro-guard) and I only average 19 mpg with 95% highway driving. When I drive from gas station to gas station on the highway I might get to 21 mpg. Never been more than that.
Those of you getting over 25 mpg are really lucky since I have never seen 22 mpg and I am stock.
19 mpg is still better than my Explorer ever got.

With stock everything I was gettiing 16-18 mpg with all around town driving, stomping on it whenever I was in the mood. I just can't bring myself to drive a Marauder slowly and gently. I floor the biotch every time I get an empty stretch of road in front of me. I make the assumption that every mod I make will chip away at the fuel consumption.
I have not figured mileage since I loaded the tune and had mufflers removed.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up for me as well. I have long since given up on the fuel mileage calculations. When she needs a drink ... she gets it... from the premium call brand stock. :D
As mentioned above, that "right foot" action has alot to do with MPGs. I could drive like I had an egg under the accelerator. What fun is that ... besides ... I'd have one H3LL of a mess on the floorboards.

My sentiments exactly, if I wanted good gas mileage I'd get a diesel VW...
