I FIGURE IF ANYONE KNOWS...YOU PROFESSIONALS WILL.

I have no idea where/how to google search this one.

I have an associate that has been having on ongoing money theft from his home. It is one of the folks living in the home, but he cannot nail it down.

Surv cameras are not an option.

There is a product out there, that can be placed on/near items that will then be transfered onto the skin. This product can then be seen with a common black light to expose the sticky fingered individual.

Where and how do we find this product?

You might try some type of fluorescent powder or dye, espescialy on money, where it will transfer to other money as well as hands. I have used something simular in criminalistics work in the past. Hope it helps...

Try Gall's and/or Searchie Products. There are several variations of this type product.

There's also this:

but it's got some warning about prolonged exposure to it...

Rocknrod's idea is the best.

Has you friend called the police?

Does he plan on criminal prosecution?

If the answer to these questions is Yes, then the above mentioned gadgets will interfear.

If your friend simply wants to know who the thief is, the black light idea isn't bad.

But truthfully, most victims of these crimes know who it is, they just seek validation to the suspicion. After I intereview a victim with good common sense, I usually suggest they follow thier gut.

Do not discount the home video cameras. They are cheep enough now and are a worthy investment - even after this thief is nabbed.

If someone was stealing stuff out of my house on a regular basis, this would be the last thing I'd be concerned about.

Tell him to stop leaving his money laying out.

Put out some dime store play money instead.

I deal with SIRCHIE and find their prices reasonable. I don't know if they will sell to a private party. The invisible detection powder is great. I have solved several theft cases with it. Be careful when you use it because it gets on everything.

Good luck!

I also agree with the person that said to call your local police first if you are going to want the person to be arrested/prosecuted.

Contact a local P.I.(private investigator) He may even help for free.

Your friend may want to approach the person and confront him/her about the situation. BY this I mean talk to the person, calmly, do not resort to violence. This will only get your friend into trouble and he will be the one in jail. By confronting the person about the problem, it will make the person aware that your friend knows what is taking place, even if the suspect denies doing it, and the problem may stop. If your friend wants to get his stolen money back, his best bet is to call the local police and let them help resolve the matter.

This is a product we have used in the past when some businesses have had a purse thief.

We have used it in several times successfully. and able to arrest the suspects.

It was easy, when all you have to do is look for the purple fingers.!!!!

Hope that helps
