You remember the thread about the smart car tippings? How the Smart car owners were flipping out that people would find it amusing to tip their cars, well now i know why they get tipped!!!!!!!!!

I know, i still couldn't beleive they were this small, this thing was following me all over the island. It just showed up everywhere I was, it was starting to scare me. I knew i wanted to and it was tempting me!!!!

And those things corner like nothing like I've ever driven. Of course, 0 to highway speed you can time with a calendar . . .but you can drive it for a month on $5.

They aren't available in the States yet. They're made by Mercedes, and come in 3 models. The 'twofour' (above, twoseater), the 'forfour' (Fourdoor, four seater) and a two seater roadster convertible.

About $18k for the twofour (hehehe, also what we call a case of beer), and $16k for the 'vert.

In the fall I was at the local car wash and in the stall next to me some guy was washing his Smart car. After he had finished and drove out I decided to go over and chat with him. I asked him the usual questions, like how much horsepower, torque, etc. His response, looking at my MM was that those things didn't matter and that "at least he was doing his part for the environment". Sanctimonious little pr**k.

These cars are not cars for car people, in my humble opinion.
