Alright before you get sick to your stomach wondering why I would drill a hole in the roof of my MM I need to explain. In the near future I will be adding a lightbar, Siren, and deck lights to my MM (I am a volly and buzz all over the place)(Plus it will really make the cops jealous) Problem is I have to run the control/power cable thru the roof like cops do for there impalas and crown vics. My question is how hard will this hole be to repair when I remove the lightbar and sell the car in 4 years. I will have the equipment installed professionally as this is not my 1998 Dodge Ram Quad and I dont want to do another crap install job.

Doesn't matter...you can tape a flashlight to the rear-view mirror and SHERIFF and his puppets will be on you like white on rice...

I think the thought of a hole in the roof is too much to handle for some. Im kinda riddin the fence myself. But your in a noble profession, and I think it would look pretty cool. I have some guys that might be able to get you hooked up. I will pm you when I know something.

engine,
I think some here were referring to THE SHERIFF - not a sheriff or your local sheriff...

instead of a light bar on the roof... how about lights behind the grill. I see 'unmarked' police in Chicago use them and it does not detract too much from the looks of the car and still retains the aerodynamic smoothness.
aside from that, I have nothing more to say on this particular subject.

OK, I get it. Volunteer fireman. I see those in the small communities of Florida. Most of them use golf carts......
Problem is, you may not always perform this function. But once installed...it's permanent. Who's gonna buy a used MM witha litebar????
Behind the grill or dash mounted is more than effective.
Very hard to stomach this one....

You can get "strobes" in your headlamps. My chief and other officers did that, seem to work pretty good. Myself, I try not to advertise I'm a Vol. firefighter when I'm driving to a call. It may be poor P.R. for the dept.

Hey Engine, we ALL respect what you do...don't take anything wrong.
Behind the grill is an excellent idea...there's lots of room behind there.

You all should be a little more tolerant of things other people may want to do with their car rather than just jumpin' him...
