The NWS has been hyping this storm for a while. Still uncertian as to how much, where, and when the change to snow will occur. If the low tracks too far west, it will limit our snow amounts.
Personally...I hope it's a blizzard, and we get a foot of snow.
I've been waiting all winter for a good storm...this one better not dissappoint.

I get to drive to The Univ of Akron today and back to MTV. Yea!
For the Ohio guys, here is your snow accumulation calculator.
1. Take the predicted amount of snow.
2. Divide that amount by 2.
3. Take that figure and subtract 1 inch for each day out this storm was predicted.
4. That is your total.
Or.......
Get out your SPF 50 because it will be a beautiful day.

You better warm that puppy up Jerry. I heard the snowbelt is going to get burried on Sunday. Once the winds shift around, they're expecting very significant accumulations for the belt.

Not sure about the upper GL's but Lake Erie is WIDE open. No ice. 35 deg. off Cleveland. Mix that with 20 degree or colder air...and look out snowbelt!

The weather people a saying we're going to get some in Huntsville tonight and tomorrow morning, maybe an inch. It's cold enough here today to keep the strip closed. :depress:

Sounds like the generator I bought last year for Hurricanes.
Since I bought it not one power interruption.
(Not that I'm complaining, the 23 hours of no power after Hurricane Jeanne was enough!)

FEB 4TH AT 3:30 in the afternoon, it had rained heavily for the better part of the day as a result of the Louisianna LOW moving through the area. The gravel in my driveway was actually floating away.
As the temps dropped into the low 40's, an erie fog rolled in.
This is what I saw:

It started to snow last night around 9pm.
We sure didn't get the expected 12-16"....
There might be 3" on the ground. It's that HEAVY, WET snow that is difficult to shovel, and clogs snow blowers.
Oh well. Atleast it TRIED to snow.:bs:

It actually warmed up here over night. Monsoon type rain at times. Supposed to get some lake effect later today, mainly up north of here. Very strange winter... I just hope it doesn't decide it needs to make up for it in late March or April :(

Sounds like you're really suffering down there, Paul. You and the missus keep warm, y'heah.
BTW, we poor(e) folk up here in frigid PA, had to suffer through another 60 degree day, Friday. :D

Ya know, couldn't ya keep the snow in Ohio. Looks to be in the 1-2" per hour rate now. Just when I was getting used to weird weather.

9.5" of lake effect a few miles east of us at this hour.
The wind is blowing so hard, it's blowing all the snow away.
I think we're actually losing inches now!:P

4 more inches here last night...but the wind is still up and blowing most of it to the neighbors lot.
The snow is drying out a bit as well. I guess the Louisianna Clipper has about wound down. All Lake effect from here on out.

Cruz, it would be nice if you could keep your Lake Erie snow there in Ohio. 4" ?, is that all? We drove in a whiteout to and from the vets yesterday afternoon. Got pounded all night, schools closed and now Lake Ontario is taking a swipe at us. With the wind its hard to give a accurate measure, certainly well over a foot and climbing.
with 3-8" possible south of Rt 20. High in the mid to upper 20s. Wind: WNW 15-25 mph

No too much going on in Buffalo. The Southertier has got it's share. Icy raods, until the salt hits the pavement. Driving to the Corning, NY area this week and have had no real issues, just icy roads and blowing snow.
Never know what's gonna' happen next. I am ready for Spring though....
