I live near the HQ of Hobby Lobby (http://www.hobby-lobby.com/), a mail-order RC airplane shop, and as luck would have it ... spend a lot of time out at the same local airstrip.

These guys get together every Wednesday to fly, (http://www.hobby-lobby.com/flying_photos.htm) which is cool cause we get to see a lot of experimental stuff and their own "personal" planes, 'copters, etc. These guys are pros and I can see them flying something like that scale Tomcat, but most folks will want to start a little smaller. Especially, since you really don't want to lawn-dart one of those big babies.

Here's a favorites of mine ... And yes, they've even had law enforcement out to clock a few models with radar guns for fun.
