The only problem I had was with the axle's. My car has 51,000 on it and when I pulled the axles out the part where the wheel bearing runs on the axle was smoked. Really really worn bad and pitted. I found a simple soulution to this problem if any of you run ito this. from what I hear it is very common on the vics also. I purchased a bearing kit from car quest part # RP5707. And with this kit it moves the bearing outwards and rides on a new part of the axle very easy and alot cheaper than replaceing the axle's. Other than that I was done in about 1.5 hours. The new gears make a great difference with my excalibrator SF. Thanks for all the input. Hope this may help. I never knew they made such a thing for the wheels bearings. Jason:D

The axle problem was a big problem on alot of the early prduced 03's there was a tech bull if you complain they will replace under warranty hopefully it causes vibration in rear.

my mm build date is 6-03-02, when i bought the car 9-30-03 with 1100 miles on it i was beyond happy
at 19000 miles when dr put 4.10s in we found the axles and bearings were junk, new axles and bearings and seals compliments of ford
no questions ask
very common and warranty will cover new everything; all parts ship in one box
from ford to dealer oem better than otc

Keep us posted on how the bearing package holds up. If that fails, get the replacement axle kit from Ford.

Hmm, good one Jason... I don't know why I didn't remember that bearing thing that you are talking about. I saw them back in 1999 when I was doing bearings on my Bronco II. I accidentally got the type you are talking about that moved the bearing on the axle. Didn't even think that they may make them for the MM.

Yep, been almost 2 years now with the bearing kit and not one single problem.
