I am really NOT a big fan on beans of ANY type.

So that would be a big NO.

Want some texture &/or something extra ......

Add some onions & peppers.

Yes but with a caveat...I don't like kidney beans in chili!

Put some Goya pink beans in, those rule!!

In terms of kidney beans vs no beans, I'd take no beans. But let me choose my bean, and different story. :)

Phil,
You can't live here and put beans in your "chili". That mixture of meat/beans is called "soup". You are allowed all types of plant-eating meat- the last contest winner I made was beef, pork and goat- no beans!!

I was starting to see a corilation of of logitude/latitude to the answers... I have decided to not put beans in the chilie because,
1. It means I couldn't eat it right away.
2. It's now all gone.

BTW, it was tasty, and good, but I need to add more spice to it. Just didn't have any kick...

And also no pork. I love the way pig tastes, but a friend who is staying with us, won't eat pig, so I have had to create some interesting dishes useing beef. Hard to serve Sawmill grave with out pork sausage, so I make my own sausage with Briskit.
