I remember the Bittner brothers in Waynesboro, who didn't like the performance of their '65 Mustang, so they dropped a well massaged 327 mouse motor in it. That thing ran like stink.

An Abomination. An unholy union. Next thing ya know, cats will lie down with dogs. Lions will lie with sheep. Sheep will lie with just about anyone.

they ran like stink with a 289 as well.

the easiest way to get a Chevy guy very upset, seeing red upset, is to put a FORD engine in a GM product.

I've seen it done a few times. One was an always winning 427 Corvette. The engine was Ford.
Another was a mid 70s Chev van, powered by a 302.

One night at New England Dragway I saw an '84 or so Caprice with a Mustang drivetrain, complete with 5-speed. I have pictures somewhere. "Bizarre" does not quite cover it.

The Chevy guys get so sensitive, they even don't like that one local guy has a big Buick V8 in his GMC pickup

Yep...and the Turbo Trans Am as well. Had the Buick powered Turbo 6 in it. Rare car...only 1200 or so built in 87 IIRC.

A friend of mine just bought that last year. Has about 20k on it and it's like new.
