Yup, on Saturday I told my boss I was leaving Logan's Roadhouse for good. I'm dropping my $7.00 per hour when I'm hosting and $5.00 per hour plus 1% split tip share when I'm server's assistant job for a better one.

That's our location in G-Ville South Carolina. So affectionately known as G-Vegas by the kids.
I'm now working at The Melting Pot, an upscale franchise fondue joint. At first I'll be making $3.00 per hour plus tip share which is considerable given the amount of money this place pulls in. I'll rot at this for a month or so and then it's onto working a server's position.
One server told me, on a bad night I'll make around $70 in tips minimum. Not bad for a place that doesn't even open until 5pm most of the week and isn't open at all on Sundays.
Can't wait to take my expertise down to Florida and get a job there my second semester in college.

You're supposed to dip food in the cheese and chocolate.
Here's a link to the menu (http://www.meltingpot.com/Greenvillesc/images/Greenville,%20SCGreenville3.pd f).

There is one here about 5 minutes from where I work. Never been though, scared of the prices just to walk in the door...

I always laugh when I hear people say that. When I travel out of NYC food seems cheap!

I have heard very good things about "The Melting Pot". :D We have one near here; but I have not gone to it yet. Understand that it is quite busy all the time. Of course, in the Northern Virginia area ... that applies to nearly every kind of restaurant there is.
Good luck on your new job and your new position.

No offense but......I hope you like washing your clothes alot and cleaning oil off your face. The stuff that simmers into the air from the pots will give you a nice gleaming sheen and make your clothes smell like you've been dipped too.

The ventalation system is well managed. I deal with that already where I work...and I'm not one to get a shiney complexion easily. I take a shower everyday. :P

I wish you the best of luck in your new job. I went to the Melting Pot once with Ghost03, his wife, me ,my wife & daughter and Tim. It was a nice experence but my close did smell for a few days even after being washed. It was really nice of MarauderMarc to offer you a job where he works. But that is why I consider him a friend , because of the type of person he really is. Good luck again in you new Job.

Thanks Marc! When I come down for college, the school I'll be attending is on SE 17th street in Fort Laud. So I'll need something close to that. There happen to be another location? There's a melting pot nearby so I might just transfer.

A good friend of mine used to work at the Melting Pot and he used to make at least $200 a night in tips. They add on tips automaticly to parties over 4 or 6 plus people usually end up giving more....Most dont even realize that the tip was already included. One good thing is that you dont have to be at work so early, get to sleep in and still make good $$$$$$$. There is a Melting Pot on Federal Hgwy (US-1) just north of Sunrise Blvd. Its about 3 miles from where you will be going to school.Good luck

I wear a tie, vest, oxford, slacks, ect. We dont fu*k around, were a classy place that has been in Palm Beach Gardens since 1984 and the staff has been there an average of 10 years. Show me a restaurant that can say that. The average server there makes 50k a year in tips alone. Thts cash in hand 50k! Plus I get my hourly, so my checks are @ 250 every 2 weeks. Nice for being able to keep my cloths on, eh?
