Obviously it's a GREAT name, because no one seems to forget it!! :cool4:
BTW, you know what I hate, when people name their car "Elanor"! I mean, let's atleast try to be original (like me!)! :burnout:

Here's my vanity plate (avatar) and her name's at the bottom. It's the Olde English word for the element mercury.
And NO, it's not MURDER I'm trying to say in my vanity plate  (guys say "What's that? MURDER?". But I did have one old Jewish lady say say "OH! Mister Doctor!) :baaa:
Ask Haggis what the B26 is about.

I could never get into the whole naming thing. Baby is about the most I call it. Some of my friends call it the cop car, po po car, or something of that nature. Funny thing about Eleanor, my buddy bought a 67 mustang coupe and when I first went to see it he told me he would name it Eleanor. I asked if he was going to make it a clone and he had no idea, he had not seen the movie. That was about 6 months after it came out in theaters, but I was still surprised.

My silver 03 is named after my handle : 1 Bad Merc! My six year old son just calls her : Daddy's Hot Rod! The wife just looks at me and tells me to grow up!:)
My project in the garage is called : Charlene. She's a 1932 REO Speedwagon 3 window coupe. She's in primer and pieces but just like the gun in Full Metal Jacket, I just cant stop touching her!
I also have an 04 DTR and she's not driven alot and currently in storage. I call her the "Princess" to irritate my wife! She just shakes her head and tells me to sell the "Money Pit". She thinks I am crazy and doesnt see the sense in making payments on a car that sits in storage. She does not seem to appreciate the finer points of a Marauder nor our obsession with them.:argue:
I once asked my dad why he never warns me when I make one of these decisions.....he just shakes his' head, walks around a little bit and with a smile on his' face says:
"Son, when did you ever listen anyway"!
Aint life Grand!!!!!!

Good thing I wasnt making it a contest...that was way to easy......:D
I live in Northern Virginia ... the vanity plate capital of the USA. Much of my morning and evening commute is consumed in trying to figure out people's vanity plates. Sometimes they are easy to figure out ... other times almost impossible because they must mean something very unique or obscure.
Of course, I do get them wrong sometimes ...... like when I saw a plate that said "PRZTLRD". Over and over again I just kept seeing "Pretzel Rod". ;) It wasn't until later that day that it finally struck me as "Praise the Lord". :D
My grown kids sometimes remind me of this (poking fun at Dad is a pasttime for them) when they occasionally end a dinner prayer with "Pretzel Rod" or give me a box of Chocolate Covered pretzel rods for Christmas.
not5-0
03-16-2006, 12:41 PM
my plate is NOT 5-O. Some people think it means "not the police" others think it refers to engine displacement. Though I didn't intend for it to be the name of the car when I got it, it now is how my friends and family refer to it.

After 54000 miles, 3 transmissions and a stack of (warranty, thankfully) repairs 3 inches thick, I've officially named mine "Gone".
I still like hanging here, though, 'cause the Mustang boards just don't cut it
