After seeing posts of the new Caddy and the 300 it dawns on me the muscle wars are in full swing again. Ford is going to build the 427. In a few years there is going to be an abundance of used cars with 400+ horsepower. We thought we had it made in the 70s!? Think about it. Grandma pulls up in her Caddy V and smokes your vette stang whatever. ;) I don't think we'll have to worry about the next group comming into drivers ed being ricers. My point or question if you will; What car do you ladies and gents consider the first "shot" in the hi powered sedan wars? I started to think SS then thought Marauder. Whatever way you wanna think about it. Thank God it happened.:D

I'd have to agree, vader...the 1994 Impala SS. Although it was more of a "shot across the bow"...

I'm assuming you're talking American, here...so the Marauder cannot be included; as we all know, it's a Canadian car...

1988 Spirit Turbo nice for a FWD platform could give 5.0 Mustangs fits if properly tuned.

What about the Monte Carlo and Buick Grand National from the late 80 early 90...They where two door sedans and the Buick was lightning quick with a chip and some other choice mods.

I was gonna include the GN in my reply, but I was thinking vader meant full-size 4 door cars...I thought of the GN as a more of a mid-size coupe, since it was made from a Regal...

But you're right, they are very fast and very nice, when you can find one. We ALMOST had one; my wife took it for a test drive and we were going to buy it when the salesman told her he'd made a mistake, the car had already been sold by another salesman...I was very bummed...

Two doors equals coupe... I was talking about sedans. We have had access to hi powerd 2 doors forever.

The only four doors I have are the MM and my 66 (suicide baby! ). Otherwise, I'd prefer a coupe. They're easier to get in and out of, usually have a tighter wheel base, and are just more sporty and fun. I doubt I'll have any more 4-doors in my time...
