Had the day off, so I took the MM out for a little drive....

Don't try this on your lake, I am a trained professional, this was completed under controlled circumstances on a closed course.

Things I learned about the MM.
My Hankook Ice Bears grip well on snow
The Ice Bears can dig through the 3" of hard pack snow and throw a big roost onto/into the car when you are doing donuts
You can do some pretty impressive donuts on ice
It is possible to get it stuck when you dig through the hard pack and onto glare ice
Traction control does not help on glare ice
You can push yourself out :Djeremy "celebrating the quality of life in MN"

OMG, you really did have it on the lake! I see there was plenty of cold air for power though.

"Closed course" I see, but I also see the "trained professional" stayed within walking distance of an out-house...Just in case you scare the crap out of yourself...

J/K...Next time, grab some video?

Thats a fish house, we here in Minnesota spend alot of time in them, so maybe they are used as an out house, so your right!!

I have spent alot of time on the lakes with the 4x4 truck, but not the Marauder, but we get more snow on the lakes up north then you do in Plymouth, so I would have to put chains on the Marauder.

36" up north and 18" down south, each lake will vary. 12'' will hold many cars side by side no problem.

Nice photo op. Bad, black car with all the background start white in contrast. I grew up in Florida, so I'd be way too paranoid to driving on a lake. :)

I'm jealous! I used to do that on lake Winona back in high school. I do know that 4 inches of good (new) ice will hold a '78 Fairmont wagon.

I used to take the Volvo many years back on Lake Winnapausakee in New Hampshire. Unfortunatly some people lost their cars through the ice. They also found out the hard way that their insurance companies denied any claims because they consider driving on the ice void of any insurance!!!

I live in Rosemount, MN. I run the standard BFG KDWS and I've found on snowy days if I drop the pressure down to 20 psi it helps with traction in the snow & ice.
