Apperantly a whole army of interceptors! Here's a wonderful tribute to the 96 Imapla SS. A stolen Impala manages to out run several Crown Vic crusiers and a chopper. Too bad they don't have Marauders in Oklahoma's fleet. No offense to highway patrol officers out there but it's an insult in the name of everything that is holy about the 96 SS to think that a highway patrol Vic is good enough to catch a 96 SS. Again, I wholey respect law enforcement but nothing short of a road block and a supercharged Marauder is going to stop a 96' SS Impala.

I honestly don't think that was your regular run of the mill SS. They were not that fast stock, and to easliy roll on PI is not that easy, not to mention a helicopter. Big Block monster or a superhcarger...or better yet, twin T's, but not stock.

Hey, I don't think it' s an SS. At count 6:30 they say "Cadillac". Yeah, but later on in the vid they correct themselves by explaining that it's an Impala SS.

Big Block monster or a superhcarger...or better yet, twin T's, but not stock. I respectfully disagree. Crown Vic P.I.'s are pretty slow. They have some decent top end, but they take a long time to get up to that speed. And if his Impala SS was S/Ced, they never would've been able to keep that chase going as long as they did, cuz he would've been in the next town. Even a family member of mine who was in L. E. for over a decade said that that the LT1 engine equipped Caprice cars were a lot faster than the CV's that they had. On the local force that he worked for, they had both, and he said that there were cops that raced the two up against eachother, and that there was no comparisant. When I first bought my Marauder (when it was brand new, and bone stock) I let him drive it, and while I was sitting in the passenger seat, I insisted that he hammer it while we were up on the highway, and when he did, he commented on how noticebly faster even my factory stock Marauder was than the P.I. Crown Vics are. ;)
