You're not the only ones on the board with nice Mustangs.:D Here's mine...1983 GLX Convertible. 302 punched .030 with a T-5. BBK shorty headers and X-Pipe with Thrush Turbo mufflers. Polished Holley 4160 4-BBL. Hurst Competition Plus shifter. She's been stolen. She's been totaled, twice. I keep fixin' her. Went to my high school prom in it, and just can't seem to let 'er go. This trip out of storage was: Subframe connectors, brakes, water pump, inner tie rods, and a new adjustable clutch cable.

Anyways, here's a pic...

Thats a nice Mustang Chuck! Like you, I have had my 85 since High School, I remember the Prom thing too, came in handy that it had T-Tops, allowed more room for after Prom activities!
Last things I did to it was having the frame tied and welded. I also upgraded to the Stainless Steel Brake Company BIG brake upgrade, I had to upgrade a few suspension componants to make it fit, think it was the spindle, strut, spring, camber/caster plates and one hell of an allignment!. Cars like ours dont have a price on them. Do you have any more pics of yours? Maybe a motor pic.

I just noticed the Pony rims, you did the same thing I did with that upgrade. Tight fit.

Yeah, the Pony rims are tight, but look great. I have the TRXs in the garage, and ran them up until this most recent set of tires. They're like $200 a tire now!

No more pics, as she's already back in storage. Where did you get your shock-tower brace? Part number? I need one to go with the BBK subframe connectors I just put in, and your's is exactly what I want.

Love those 4-eyed 'Stangs! Here's my '85 GT, bought new about a year and a half out of high school. My first new car and I still have it.

Motor is mostly stock save for U/D pullies, and a K&N. Also has the Hurst shifter, 'off-road' H-pipe, and an 8.8 rear with 3:27 gears.

Needs T-Top weatherstrips which is one of my projects this summer.

These pictures are from the Feb '97 issue of 5.0 Mustang magazine where it was featured. It still looks the same today.

Nice car Chuck.

If you're not a sticker for 100% originality looks wise .....

An 85/6 nose would make a nice change(just an opinion of course').

I knew someone back in the day, that bought a new 85/6 GT convertible in a lighter shade of blue w/a white top & gut, real sharp car.

Chuck, The strut tower brace is made by BBK. I dont know the part number. If I remember, it fits 1979 to 1993 Mustangs & GTs. I found this on ebay, if you look, its the same as mine. Do you have a manual or AOD trans in your Stang? If you want to buy that set of two braces, I will take the trans brace from the deal. I paid $140 for my tower brace from Ramchargers. Let me know what you think.

Damn John, Talk about DejaVu.... I love your Mustang! Except for Trans and color, they should be identical, except for my mods. We need to meet up with the Mustangs this summer somewhere around town, you only live a few miles away...23 & romeo plank here. Check out my 85 here .. Nice to see so many really nice 4-eyed cars.

I really liked the 5.0s without the plastic skirts the 1987+ cars got.

Now if I could just find a nice set of gray buckets to replace the ones my butts been draggin' over since 1994.

Thanks! M59 & Mound area for me. Let me know when & where you want to meet up. I didn't drive it much last summer due to the T-Top weatherstrips and the new-to-me Marauder. I used to do the car show thing with the Mustang club but haven't for a few years now. It's also been known to make a few passes at Milan on test & tune nights.

It's been stored every winter except for the first when it was a daily driver. 43k on the clock. 5-speed. Mine was built Oct. '84, last six of my VIN are 122908. What about yours?

Man I wish spring would get here!
