Mine 'clicks' when the a/c compressor engages........

All compressors click when they are energised. . A rapid clicking could mean that the system is low on freon. Low freon could cause the compressor to engauge and disengauge. John

It could possibly be the wide open throttle relay,a fairly inexpensive part.

A ticking compressor usually means it's low on oil. But yes, all copmressors have an initial "tick" or "click" when engauged, and with climate control, the compressor may kick in and out, depending on the needs inside the cabin. Try running the AC at max setting and see if it gets cold. If it doesn, then maybe all it needs is a slight oil charge. This WOT relay thing I don't know about...

The WOT relay cuts the compressor off for added power. Once the throttle is closed, the relay will allow the compressor to reengage and thus cool your hot rod butt off again! The relay has been in the systems for sometime, as I remember it being on my '92 CV, '94 Mustang GT, '96 Cobra, '99 Cobra and my ol'e tradein '02 CV Sport.

I found out about the relay on my 91 QM,it would click loudly with the hood open very rapidly with the a/c on. Part cost me $8.00
Relay was located in the engine compartment in a fuse/relay box that was readily accessable.
