That must be a huge load off your mind... :D
You WILL keep after them for answers as to what went wrong with your old motor, right? RIGHT? ;)
Congrats, Mad. Good to see them doing the right thing. Did you tell them it was a 5.2 originally

EXCELLENT !!! MAD-3R, I hope all goes well and you're back on the road again, soon. Maybe by chance or luck Ford may send you the Mach 1 engine instead.Good Luck.

Yes, yes i will.
Though I was looking forward to having an opertunity to rebuild it as I see fit. I already had aproval to persue a 5.4 upgrade. Was just a questoion of who was going to do the work. SHM or talk Kenny into building it for me. Of course it would have ment getting a second mortgage on the house... :D

Probably won't be any real word, sick motor goes back in crate for autopsy.
This is a whole new motor going in, new A/C pump, alternator, water pump, the whole 9 yards. "Plug and play" repair.
Mad, don't forget to get your goodies off the sick motor, Densos, underdrive pulleys, whatever...
Congrats and..."whew" eh? That's a 10K repair!

I've been looking into this very hard lately, gonzo, and I still have a few resources I'm waiting to hear back from. But, I think it's safe to say that we have the Mach 1 motor now, and so does the Avaitor. InTech 4V. Go pop the hood on any Mach 1 or Avaitor you can find, look at the bar codes on the driver's side fron block and on each valve cover. Intech part numbers, stock numbers, and build dates, for sure.
Mach 1 is rated 2 ponies and two pounds over our motor, because of the direct cold air path. Therefore, I have to add this. If this direct cold air path only adds 2 and 2, I wouldn't expect a custom cold air package under our hood to produce much more, and that should be kept in mind when pricing any kits that emerge.

Yes, I suggest you get your pulleys off the motor, remove evidence of any owner modification. Otherwise, if they are discovered in the autopsy, LM could hang their 10K dollar hat on a "owner modified" issue and charge back the repair. I wouldn't expect the dealer to eat it.
I used to do this stuff for the General, a long time ago, and this is just a suggestion, k? A lot of these warranty program changes stem from federal laws enacted to protect the consumer against warranty abuse by the manfacturer. With you happy and on your way, your old motor is sent to the lab. The proof the federal law requires, is resting in FMC's fridge until they get around to looking at it, should they care to at all. You got your new motor now, but you could get a bill later, once they can prove you abused your warranty. All the laws did, was get us fair treatment at the point of sale, not a free ride. Now the burden of proof is on FMC, but now they have the time to do the autopsy at their leisure. If, and when enough of these motors fail, FMC will look for a way out themselves, maybe the motor assembly plant, maybe the customer, who knows. Just to be safe, act accordingly.
Go get your pulleys, don't sweat the plugs, they wouldn't be enough to stand on alone. You should still have your stat in place, and don't believe for a second, that FMC doesn't read here, and know our formulas for mods. Not for one second.

I concur......get them off. Don't gamble that they won't be noticed on an autopsy. They will stick out like a sore thumb.

Odds are that Ford won't even look at the engine, but I'd take 'em off just so you don't have to buy 'em again.

I dunno... I would have to say, being a motor marked as coming out of a Marauder, this would lead to some sort of an investigation. I'd say the same for a Mach engine. An Aviator... ehh, probably not. IF they do pull her down, you can bet it won't take long for them to find the pullies. Question is, how do you get them off? Wee bit late for that now ehh? Sounds like we need to set up a covert op and sneak in to the dealer lot and do some de-modding ASAP (or should I say STAT?)!

Just call your service advisor, or better yet if have the time make a visit to the dealer, ask if you can speak to the tech working on your car. When you talk to the tech ask if would remove them for you, and put them in the trunk or something. Ford has already approved the repair, so there shouldn't be a problem. I'm pretty sure underdrive pullies alone won't void the warranty anyway.
Chris,
I (like others have stated) am not only glad you're here with your fabulous insight....
I like the fact it looks like your "hooked" like the rest of us!
Keep the good stuff coming!!!:coolman:
