Does anyone know where to find a replacement metal stand for my vintage double cement utility sink?
The base has rust/rotted out.
I really want to keep this baby, but without a stand...it's gotta go.
We really dislike plastic utility tubs.
Can you make a replacement out of treated lumber?

We've had one before and threw it out.But if memory recalls it was made from 1" or 3/4 angle iron .

Even my neighbor has suggested treated wood.
Seeing as how I just moved some 20' across the basement a few moments ago...I have discovered that it weighs just over 300 lbs. My old staircase won't take the weight of IT, and 4 guys carrying it.
It seems that it is destined to stay in my basement, or...be hammered into oblivian and carried out in pieces.:depress:
I will build it!

I'm sure a good welding shop in your area could fix you up with something without too much cost . Iron is up some like everything else thesedays but I've got a local guy that fabricates stuff for me on the farm all the time and usually real reasonable. That's a nice old sink and worth keeping.
