Is the " Upcoming Events for the Next 7 Day(s)" user configurable?

If so, please tell me how.

If not, could we please discuss the value of increasing the time period from 7 days to 30 or 45 days?

I think a longer lead time will help in getting turnout and keeping events in the minds of people.
