Got more torque and horsepower on the dyno today, but have a slight shudder at idle. Did anyone exprience this after exhaust mod? My rpm's seem to fall slower when I stop giving gas and cruise.

Back pressure I'm guessing? Only other person I know on here who got Flows was ForthHorseman, and his were 40 series. What'd you get?

Got dyno sheets? Ya know the rule around here... :D

I personally do not plan on touching the exhaust system. I don't feel there's anything to be gained by "uncorking" the system. A N/A motor like this needs backpressure to make power. Only thing I plan on doing is a possible tip swap (if people can get there **** together...).

PS: Update your sig! ;)

Sidney I too noticed a very slight decrease in idle rpm after I put on a pair of Magnaflows. It seems to have gone away or I have gotten used to it. I would drive the car and put some miles on it.
This could be effecting back pressure and changing the AFR slightly. The computer could adjust for the variation over time. Anyone else ?

I will post the dyno numbers soon. They are currently stored on Dyno Dave's computer. It sounds good though, but was concerned with the small rough idle.

Well, I did the chip, its just flash into my EEC. It was done by the same guy who is doing the ford tune. I haven't gotten the stat and plugs yet. He did it all with his laptop on the dyno about three months ago. Wanted to post my dyno but didn't think you guys would believe me back then.

I went to my dealership and got sum bad news!! CARS FINE!!!! But when talking about about the chips, stats and plugs and other they said it void warrenty! . They basically said just putting on Flowmasters and a K@N airfilter would be fine. .

Since shorty after I bought I had the Master cylinder go out, Rember~! So I am debateing what to do?? OPtions????

I just the vent shades, window tint soon and debation on speakers. Like the side logos for the back window. Not sure on puting the cuttouts for the rear bumper.

So just debationg about the performance part. Sorry to carry on. Thoughts, Ideas??????

Not sure what the problem is Patrick. You lost the master Cylinder, but the dealer already voided your warrenty for MENTIONING mods, or your afreid to they will even though you have no mods? That they can't do.

I just got my Car back from installing Flowmaster 40's, TC and Gears. The sound inside is just perfect, great outside. I will be on the Dyno in May but will not have a baseline to compare, only SgtMac. By the way the Stage 2 changes really make the car perform like it should have from the beginning. The Tech that did the work was EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with the changes. He has a 600 hp Mustang with a Vortec SC, that thing screams. Can't wait to get on the Track.

Congrats MN6. Thats the great thing about the Marauder......doing the various mods that makes the car your own. Good luck at the track.

I had this option too and gave it some consideration. Then I remembered that if a dealer needed to flash an update to my ECM, it would likely happen without my prior knowledge, and I would lose my custom programming. So, I decided to keep it all on the chip, and the bonus for this is a having a second program that limits the performance of the car when I'm not behind the wheel.

I would expect this to be the standard "company line" reply to questions on mods. To this point, I have not heard from anyone posting here, of being denied a warranty repair. There is a lot of speculation on what could happen, conversations with dealers such as you have mentioned, but no one has really tested this water yet, except Mad 3R, and Dave Compson. Both seem to be doing fine after serious warranty claims with mods in place.

I'm fortunate to have a progressive dealer in my corner, but even then, we all know the game could change when the factory rep gets involved. When I realize the potential of this car, and where I would like to explore more with mods, I find the voided warranty issue quite restraining. One of these days I'm gonna say **** it, and follow my ideas.

Come again? Sarge, is there any part of your car that you HAVEN'T modded yet...?

Rear end, trans, motor, exhaust...have you modded the glove-box, yet...or the ashtray?

Glovebox...Hmmmm, hide-a-way compliment of digital gauges perhaps? LOL... I'm a big James Bond fan, ya know, I love hiding the neat stuff.

Seriously, I have some ideas, but I'm still working with pencil. One thing for sure, it's not supercharging or juice. I have a few ideas, but it's still all in the fantasy stage right now.

As for the flashing of our stock computers, does anyone make a "setup" that would allow us to flash our own stock computer with the configuration that we want?

I have an 89 Mustang GT with a 351w and supercharged. I bought a Speedbrain for it just so I could calibrate things the way they ran best for me on the road and on the track using my laptop. This way, I can get almost 20 mpg with one program, and then just plug the laptop in and reprogram it again with my "full power" program and get full horsepower out of it. Makes it real nice to be able to drive it to the track and not waste the $4.50/gal fuel!

I know Dennis has a chip for us, but I have been hesitant on getting it because I have been looking for an option that allows ME to set things the way that I want, when I want, and if I make any changes to the car itself, I can make adjustments on the fly with the computer.

I'm not scared to play with it myself, since I have done it with the Mustang for so long now.

I would LOVE to be able to do the same thing with my Marauder. I wouldn't really care if the dealership overwrote the program. I would just put the one I saved on the laptop back into it and be on my way.

Anyone make anything for ours yet??? I'm looking for something that works with my laptop, or one of the setups like this:

http://www.hypertech.com/cgi-bin/prodsearch.pl?cgiFunction=user _search&year=2001&make=Ford&model=Mustang

-or-

http://www.rpmoutlet.com/musv8hyper.htm

I would rather have something that I can control a little more than the Hypertech units, but they might be fine for a start.

Oh, believe you me, I'll be doing mods. You all forget I'm 18 with a $35,000 car? I don't have any more $$$ falling outta my :censor: ! Donations are welcome though! :D

I replied to you in PM as well, Sidney, but just so it's public:

I did not notice any shuddering at idle after having the FlowMasters installed. My idle is about 600 RPM, I believe. A touch low, but it holds the AC at a stoplight so I'm not concerned.

I'm really looking forward to seeing your dyno sheet. I didn't really plan on picking up any power or torque with the FlowMasters. Did your low RPM torque numbers change at all or is it all at high end?

My horsepower and torque did meet at 4500 rpm ( car has RH tune) but after it moved up to about 5300 rpm. However, I removed them till I get the car to the dealer on Tuesday. I want to be safe till I find out why my idle is rougher. They will go back on as soon as possibe for good then.

You may want to unhook your battery for about 15 minutes and even turn on your headlights to ensure no parasitic voltage is in the circuit. Then re-hook drive it a bit and see if this resets your computer. Or drive it about 400 miles and it will eventually reset.

So the 40s series FLowmaster mufflers give u about 10lbs...how much HP?.....

How much?....and then installation?
I dont think this would void warranty....

What happened was I just had a bad master cyclinder and also a bracket the hold it or sumtin also needed to be fixed. Everyting fine now.

I just hear so much about chips, stats plugs, 4:10 gears and everything everyone is doing to their MM I get  .

First my mechanical instincts :puke: . sucks!!!! I put gas in and wash and thats about it!!!!!

The MM is BEAST TO BE SURE!!!! But If can make her better why not!! So I went to my dealership and told them about the stats, chips and plugs and 4:10 gears. What the said in a nut shell is all I need to peark her up was to add a flowmaster and a K@N air filter would be just fine. The other stuff would void the warrenty.

I dont want to drag race my Rauder, What I want just abit more power and bit more noise to let them know I am there and its not to be taken litely!!!!! Make Sense?????

Unless teaching a few RICERS alesson or to!!!!!

I will get all my answers from all here!!! I will get my MM they way I want with the help of all you. Thanks for a great forum!!!

I paid about $300 for the two mufflers and intallation on my sled. I did it for sound, to be honest, and didn't really think it'd do much for the power numbers, but it's nice to see I was wrong.

I love my FlowMasters. Would do it again in a heartbeat. And no, I can't see how they could possibly void your warranty, although I'm sure my dealer would try to find a way.

i'm a big fan of flowmasters. i put the 2 chamber 40's on the MM. bought the car with 23 miles and by 50 had the flows on it. kept the stock resonators and really like the sound.

good to hear there was a little performance bump was part of the package.
