I'll be taking the beast through some turns and twisties next week and wanted to capture some of it on my new handy cam.
Does anyone have any suggestions how to secure a handy cam to the inside of the MM without it getting loose?

If there is no passenger, you could strap it to the passenger's headrest.

Yeah, that may work. I mounted mine on a tripod and used bungee cords to attach it to the rear anchors in the back seat. The darn rear view mirror got in the way.

Should be much better to tripod mount it, and bungee around the passgner seat keeping the camera about head-level. :)

Mount it behind the grill in front of the radiator.

Great Idea! Never thought of that......like being in the front seat of a Roller Coaster!

PM wesman. He's always taping his runs. He should be able to give you ideas on where to put the camera.

Get a helmet and tape it to the right side. Where you look, you film.

Cheers!

John

ps: if you do this, please snap a photo in a mirror so we all can enjoy!

I used to mount 'em in cop cars. There's a bracket that attaches under the passenger visor clip. I'll see if I still have one buried somewhere.

I couldn't find any. You could look at 'stud' mount speaker brackets. The 'stud' is the same size and thread as the camera.

I'll look at some of my old suppliers, too.

The mount is not listed as a part. I tried to call, but they are not open yet.
My old supplier (OPV) got bought out. They don't make the mount I used to use any more.

Just in case the mount comes loose tie the camera or it
could end up under your wheels!!

Here is another mount.

I actually like the in-car view because you can see what the driver sees and how he is doing on the course.
