I was picking up the plates for my new Aviator and noticed the dealership had done some de-modding to my old Marauder!

The removed the Bob White Inserts
repainted the brake calipers (from blue to black)
Removed my 'NiteShaded' Tail Lights...

I guess they just don't get it. :shake:

I wonder if they removed my powercoated valve covers too? :P

I'll post a link to it,.. when they put it on the lot.

On the contrary, I think they are trying to maximize the sales potential of the car.

I can't speak for anyone else but myself, but if I walked onto a lot and saw two Marauders side by side and all other things being equal, one was visibly modded and the other was not, I'd prefer taking the unmodded one. Chances are that the modded one was driven harder than the unmodded one. And unless there was a HUGE incentive favoring the modded one (like, a BIG price difference), I wouldn't even look at the modded one for more than 5 seconds unless I actually knew the previous owner VERY well (and his driving habits).

Oddly enough, When I traded in my Avalanche, they removed my bowtie sticker on the tailgate but kept the billet grill and my nightshaded taillamps.

I guess thats what happens when you trade a Chevy into a Mercury Dealership

I'd bet that a service tech now has Blue Cam Covers on his Blue Mach I .

Why is that so surprising? Didn't you know stickers can void the warranty? I mean, don't they add like 20-30 hp in one shot? :run:

I forget what color your MM was... if it was black...ask the dealer what he did with the lights?

( I have a black car)

Maybe one of the employees has a marauder and swiped them to put on his car. A guy i know used to do that with traded in mustangs.
