Probably go to junk yards. I don't think they will ever be on the road again. Salt water is very rough on a car!

Clean 'em up and sell them to unsuspecting car buyers..

They may still have clean titles. Some unsuspecting newbie like me will be proudly announcing his new Marauder purchase soon...and watching his baby rot to the ground while racking up thousands of miles in the tow trucks dragging it back and forth for "repairs." Dennis:confused:

:bigcry: Gives me the creeps just to look at 'em. :(

Number 3 doesn't look TOO bad. Maybe it can clean up if it wasn't sitting in 6 feet of water. :dunno:

I also think that Number 4 maybe be a Blue MM with dark charcoal interior looking at the door frame. ;)

mclemore102
03-22-2006, 09:31 AM
These cars that i post up are at insurance auctions and they haven't been sold yet. Most likely they will end up at a parts yard somewhere. You can try keeping up with car-parts.com as that is most likely where they will end up. Do you all want me to keep you updated with pics like these?

I know of at least one insurance company that is crushing Katrina cars if it spent more than 5 days in contaminated flood waters, in order to ensure they cant be rebuilt. I'm not sure if they are stripping them of usable parts first or not....

It would probably be a good idea to start recording these VIN's in case they surface as rebuilt.

They only give a partial vin. Only the person who buys the car gets the whole vin number. So there isn't anyway to keep track of them:(

Yeah, I noticed that on the Insurance Auto Auction site ..... all the VIN end with "000000" or are blank.

Check out this site >>>> http://www.iaai.com. You can do a search on any Make-Model-Year(s) and regions/nationwide. That puke green Marauder is listed ..............

I like the description IAAI gives " COLLISION: ROLLOVER / ALL OVER".

That rollover/all over does not sound promising, probably includes the limited addition brown seat option.:(

Flood cars are a bad idea for parts.all electrical is done.If water made its way into the engine,Definite rebuild. And if any of the sheet metal comes north it will rot 2 times faster.Wheels should be fine as long as they are not warped:D

Brian,

That's the plan. He seems like a great guy. Doesn't participate much on this forum, but owns two Marauders. He is only about 20 minutes from our office so I am going to pay him a visit soon.
