when ever im in vegas i take it to Fabulous Freddies for the "vip and handwax"(40) or a full detail(135) if its been a while. Guessing at least once every 2-3 months.... too much $. When im at school I take it to the self wash and 7 bucks in quarters gets the grime off, but it doesnt look nearly as good.

I paid for a membership at the Wash Tub, which is a full service hand wash facility. She gets a wash every week and the membership is good for unlimited washes for a year. I do upgrade the the wash which cost 6 bucks per week plus the tip for the 2 girls who take good care of her while she is there....so all in all it adds up, but she is clean and thats all that matters.

In the winter it's a spray wash just to get the salt/grime off. During the summer it's nothing but hand washes. No Auto car washes for me.

Once a week. If I drove her during the week, twice a week. She was so pretty clean that I couldn't bear dust on her.
As an aside, I haven't washed the Mercedes yet. I think I'm cured now.

Mine gets washed at least once a week and I have it detailed annually on my birthday .... if I am lucky enough to get a coupon gift from my son again.
When I am lazy, pressed for time, or looking for a quick & clean, I drop the $21 for the VIP treatment at the local car wash. So far, so good .... ;)
The wife insists that I am obsessed .... but after reading some of the stories here ... I figure that I am only moderately afflicted.

My duty uniform gets dry cleaned after one day's use. I work five days a week, and this costs me 21 bucks per work week.
I spend more keeping the Marauder clean...

Mine usually gets washed twice a week, and a full detail in the spring and then again in the fall.

I don't drive my MM from November until very late April. No washes needed in that time. When it is open for business...it gets washed once or twice a week whether it needs it or not. It's never seen salt, and It's only been driven in the rain twice (MVII, MVIII).

On the road, I wash about once a week (the car, I tend to shower daily myself) at the self serve car wash. I bring a bucket, California blade, towels, sponge, and window cleaner. It take the better part of a roll of quarters to do it right. Add another $4 or so for the vacuum. At home during the winter, it the touch free automatic at least once a week, or as needed. I spring the extra 2 bucks for the undercarriage wash. I figure that's probably more important to the battle against rust. During the summer, it's every Thursday prior to the beach cruise be hand. I alternate weeks on either wheels off and scrub/protectant the wheel wells and chasis, and detailing the engine bay. Also at home in warm weather, each time it's up on ramps and thouroughly clean the underside. I also tote around a little tool kit and make sure everything is still tight and in place. I figure it's worth the effort to keep the squeak monsters at bay.

My Marauder is in the garage covered and rarely gets dirty.
It rained at the last meet and I washed and waxed it the next day.

Definitely every weekend she gets full wash and treatment. during the week about every Wednesday since road construction is underway around here. California Duster every morning before heading off to work, except when it rains or dews

Same here; that thing is a life saver. I'm almost always on the road, and since I'm pretty much a transient, I have to know the best touchless car washes in the areas I most frequent. I keep a bottle of wax, Invisible Glass cleaner and some microfiber cloths in the trunk as well. I do the best I can in whatever vacant parking lot I can find. When I do make it home, it usually gets the full detail.

I have gears, chip, dyno tune, stat, plugs, exhaust, and torque converter.
why is this significant?
I have spent more on washes.
Every other day is my average. I go to the full service place about once per month minimum.
Obsessed? Of course.

your mods arnt inportant... i was just reading the one about how much you have spent on mods, some people are up around or over 10k and thier not supercharged...
other are well well over that
so something that relates to us all, modded or not, is how much money do you spend on washing, and how often
cause i was curious

In the summer I wash it twice a week at least. In the winter I wash it once aweek because its too cold. I will usually wash it by hand at the car wash or I will get up at 4:00AM and sneak into the wash rack at work. We are not allowed to wash personal vehicles in the wash rack so I have to do it when no one is around.

And if you do the math, you'll know approximately how much I have spent on washes. That, uh, was the point.
