What resolution do you browse at?

Just curious what everyone typically browses this site at. For those who post pictures, some pics are too big for those surfing at smaller resolutions and will cause the page to scroll horizontally.

For those running higher resolutions it's not a big deal.

I try to resize my pics to about 800pixels wide. I figure most everyone is at atleast 1024x768 resolution.

You can check your resolution in Windows by right clicking on your desktop and selecting "Properties" On the Display Properties window, click "Settings" and see where the slider bar is.

Depending on what system I'm on, I'm either at:

1024x768,
1400x1050,
1600x1200

I'd say the first two resolutions are the ones I'm at most of the time...even on a huge monitor I don't care for 1600x1200 unless photo editing as it's too much of a strain on my eyes for relaxed reading...but thats just me.

It sucks to have such a nice monitor & not be able to take advantage of it's top 1600 x 1200 resolution, but I can't even remotely begin to fathom ... how a person with even perfect vision ... could possibly use such a resolution to browse the web & actually see WTF they're looking at - at that setting.

It's impossible for me, stufff is just too small.

My eye sight is fine up close ... it's at a distance where things get blurry & I can't read stuff clearly.

I tried all kinds of adjustments to fonts & such in settings, to compensate for the higher resolution ..... it just doesn't help enough.

Call me a stubborn ole' dinosaur that can sometimes be resistant to change if you must(underlying automotive ideals here too I think ;) ) ..... but a resolution of 800 x 600 pleased me the most on the very first computer/monitor I bought .....

And it STILL does today.
