Why does it seem to me like turbo and twin turbo applications are significantly more expensive than superchargers?..........i thought supercharging would be more expensive...

Its because of all the extra plumbing and hardware associated with T/C over S/C not only that but you need to completely reprogram the ECU where a S/C usually just a chip replacement the reason for this is that a 10 PSI vs 10 PSI application flowing the same amount of air the Turbo well create more power through out the RPM range. All the S/C is is a machanical driven air blower while a turbo is a Gas driven air blower so more complicated and more $$$$$
