No, not primer like in paint. Primer like in a practice run.
MarauderMarc came by today to check out the digs. Seems he has a brandy new shiney supercharger kit to install. Nope, ain't tellin' which one. If you wanna know, gotta show.
So far, Marc sez RoyLPita, greggash, Cobra25 and BlackMobile are supposed to show. The invite is open to all.
As it stands, we are indeed all SC virgins. I have done turbos on ricers, but that's only half a motor! Anyone who can lend knowledge is encouraged to to attend.
Not to mention, you could get a look at the shop and get some ideas going for Memorial Day weekend! Linky

It will be this Sunday, April 9 beginning at 8:00 a.m. and going 'till we're done. Marc is supplying the refreshments as his 'Garage Fee.' Mrs. Magindat and Magindat Jr. will be filming and keeping us refreshed.
Ya'll come now, y'hear.

My wife and Daughter are going to Mexico to visit family on either This Sunday or Next Tuesday. If they leave on Sunday I won't be able to go because I'll have to drive them to the AirPort. . If they leave on Tuesday I'll go. I'll know better in a few days. It should be fun.

It will be fun. Rich has a nice setup. Alot of space to work with, a shop for piecing together things, and a lovely wife to keep things under control. Ill be providing the catering. Plenty of food and all to keep us going all day.

I'd love to get confirmation on who's coming, if that's possible.
Shakes_26 is working on getting me an advance copy of the instructions so I can read up and has given some great advice. Thanx
Carfixer has availed himself by phone. Thanx
Tallboy has given some good tips on what to look out for. Thanx
I personally appreciate the teamwork already displayed. Keep it coming. We amateurs wanna get it right the first time.
According to Marc, he will be getting the fuel pump and a couple guages pre-installed. This will help alleviate some of the bottomside drudgery and allow us to concentrate on the topside.
The invitation is wide open. Come hang out!
I had to vote no, but I will be heading south from the Sebastian area sometime Sunday. If the timing works right I will be glad to help out. PM me directions.

Man, I can't wait to get into the install.
I wonder if doctors get this excited about upcoming operations?
Next weekend I'll get into my DR Cobra exhaust install.
Lately weekdays suck, but weekends ROCK. This club and friends are such good therapy.

We are not finished.
No flames, no harm , no fouls.
The kit was used. There were several obstacles. Some are to be expected because this kit makes some PERMANANT changes to several parts. Therefore, when re-installed some parts have to be modified from scratch. Further, Marc had UD pullies that needed swapped. A vacuum can needed to be installed. Last, but not least, we started without instructions.
Basically, it ended up not a really 'KIT', but a custom install. I think we have done really well for a bunch of amatuers. Each of us did what we were comfortable with. There was, again, a fair amount of fabricating done. There was no fighting or bickering. We had a really fun day, though it was hard work and disappointing to discover we were short parts with no place open on a Sunday night to get 'em.
The plan is to button it up tonight and for Marc to drive her home.
Interstingly, due to it's (forced) custom nature, there's a lot of nice touches. The intercooler is relocated to behind the bumper (not hanging below). The vacuum can is chrome with chrome mounts. The mounting plate is rotate brushed aluminum. The blower idler pulley is custom clearanced for better belt alignment. Certain key clamps were replaced with screw type instead of spring type. Custom stereo wiring was skillfully relocated. PWM fan wiring was extended and made to look stock rather than PWM on radiator fan being relocated and exposed more to the elements. Everything is very tidy.
Stay tuned.....

FIT Kit #3 lives again!!!! Just got home and the drive was nice. Did 83 on cruise and it ran like butter. Power? Lots!!!! Ive only gone 1/2 throttle and its amazing how fast I go from 40-115!!! Dont want to hammer it until its custom tuned. The tune Scott Beer burned me for the kit is absolutely outstanding. Really no complaints. But want a Dyno tune anyways. Then Ill mash it. Ill make a thread tomarrow after I wake up. I have lots of pictures and a fire up video. Happy dreams tonight...:)

I'm only runnin on 5 hrs sleep even right now. Blackmobile and greggash came back up to finish. Had an idle issue only to finda out the IAC hose was off. Duh. Marc's car is a MONSTER. Some cars just got "it". His is one.
It took a long time, but this install is custom and 100%. It's well beyond a 'kit'.
Since it was at my place, I wanna say thanx to everyone involved. There was far too much involvement to list. If you helped or offerred help in any way, you know who you are and THANX.
The 'Team' owes thanks to FIT. They took calls at odd hours to support this 2nd install of #3 and I felt that was 'above and beyond'. Thanx guys.
Just felt I should throw that out, since it was at my place. I'm sure Marc will be posting thanx, as well... once he wakes up! (look at the times on the posts!)
I had a blast. It was hard work, but great company, great teamwork and a super application of mixed experience. What sense of accomplishment to watch those taillights get tiny down a dark lonely road! It doesn't get much better for a car guy.
I can't wait 'till Memorial Day weekend.

We have a great group of people in our group who are always willing to help out others. Thats one of the reasons we have a great group and most of us get along so well. I'm Glad to hear Marc's install is complete & he is Happy with his new S/C Marauder. :congrats: I guess :hmmm: it's off to the track after seeing Scott Beer! :burn:

Great to hear about your install completion Marc. And yes, be extremely careful until Scott can get you acurately tuned on the dyno. What pulley do you have with your kit?

I had a really great time helping with the installation.
It turned out all the conversations I have had with Greg from FIT came in really handy, considering there were no instructions until very late.
All in all it turned out very well
Marc took me for a ride before he took off for Utah.
His car is really quick with the ProCharger, 3000 stall torque converter, 4:10's and wide tires its just amazing.
I was reduced to a bag of flesh pressed up against the passenger seat. The feel of the G-force was amazing.
