So long as that quarter mile is straight down. I figure a Marauder that can manage to keep it's nose pointed straight down has a terminal velocity of about 400ft/sec.
And any Marauder can do that. Power-adders or not. Even a wrecked one.

Wait a minute here...
Lets see the math!
Are we starting from the top of a cliff from zero or starting from terminal velocity then timed over a 1320' distance?

My calculations are probably way off, but I'm getting that the car would be going somewhere in the neighborhood of 72mph after accelerating due to gravity for 3.3 seconds. That of course is not considering wind resistance, etc.
After seeing the NHRA Nationals in Houston live this weekend, those Top Fuel and Funny Cars are going through the 1320 in about 4.5 seconds, and those cars are accelerating a whole lot harder than 9.8m/sec/sec!

Though there is some rounding for simplicity in my wacky bench race, 400ft/sec is 24,000ft/min is 1,440,000ft/hour which is 273mph.
Of course, a big brake kit is not needed for this kind of racing so you could save a little money there.

And the rocket powered car I saw last weekend ran a 5.4@290.... wow a Marauder beating a rocket hua?

Hmmm.... What I am not accounting for is the time to reach terminal velocity.

One thing for sure is that, if you tried this, DefyantWife would be interested in "talking" to you about your time slip. She'd probably even post it for you.... cuz you couldn't.

Heh. If I am behind the wheel terminal velocity will be reach much much faster.
