Attn:Crown Vic guys; 6 spd possible?

hey guys, just wondering about the feasibility of a manual transmission in the marauder. since there arent too many stick marauders out there, i was wondering if anyone runs a 5 or 6 speed in a crown vic. i know bob bondurant has in his 99' crown vics for his driving school. does anyone know how this would apply to the marauder? in other words, is the design of the marauder and vic so that the work to put in a manual tranny the same in both cars? just a last word, i'm really not considering this at the moment, but would really like to know how bondurant has 6 speed crown vics. (they have not replied to my emails). thx much

Last I heard, they weren't using those anymore, and had scrapped them.
They apparently had to cut out some important structural bracing under the dash for the clutch pedal as well as some other fairly big changes.
On the 2003s the ecu is more in the way too I think. It would be better on the right side for a standard shift set up

I am currently installing a manual transmission. With the v10. It is a liberty prep- Tremec 3550 5-sped with hurst billet plus shifter, gun drilled shafts, high tempered internals, smoothed gears, etc... I dont see what the fuss is all about. Just get the tranny, cut a hole, and install the pedals! Easy as cake. ok maybe as easy as frozen cake, but its still cake!

Buy mustang/thunderbird manual pedals. You will need to do a little adapting to make them fit, but they will fit. Run the cable to the clutch... i recommend a heavy one ... very heavy!

Dont run anything tranny rated with a working tq rating of less than 450 ft/lbs.

YOU DO NOT WANT A HYDRAULIC CLUTCH!

The V-10 CVPI is available? To the consumer or just the law? I thought that was not out yet.

What's the BHP rating and what kind of performance do you get out of it compared to the MM?

wow, keep us posted on how the engine/trans install goes. this should be one beast of a car! if i remember right, car and driver did a V10 crown vic, but it used propane for fuel. (think it was same issue as their marauder review)
