I'm thinking of putting a chip in my 300b. I work at the Sterling Axle plant where we make all of the axles for the MM and I'm going to put in a 410. Does anybody know if they make a chip for a 3.55 and another chip for a 4.10 or does it make a difference?
Just trying to plan the order of things.

Quad:
Dennis can recal the speedo for any gear ratio you want...if you're definitely going for the 4.10, but you want the chip first, just let him know, he'll burn it for the 4.10s, then when you actually replace the gears, your speedo will be correct...the error is about 15% until then. You can also go the other way and get the 4.10s first, then your speedo will be off about 13% until you install the chip. Dennis will ask you the right questions when you call; you'll also need the PCM code, found on a little bar-code sticker on the driver's A-pillar, just inside the door.

OK, so for those of us who want a chip, then later 4.10s but don't want an incorrect speedo, what would be recommended? Doint it all at once?
Thanks,

Do it all at once or ask Dennis to reflash your chip after the gears are done. It's that simple.

You could get two programs burned on the chip, one for 3.55s and the other for 4.10s. Then just flip the switch when you get the gears changed.
