Seeing all the posts on various trivia, I'm going to ask a question for all you oldtimers and youngsters.

When General Motors had the big fire at their Hydramatic plant, back in 1953, what transmission did they replace it with, in the cars that used the Hydramatic? (Pontiac, Oldsmobile & Cadillac)

Hey, I was a kid back then, but I remember those "strange" Pontiacs, Olds and Caddies.

Hey, I was a kid back then, but I remember those "strange" Pontiacs, Olds and Caddies.
Was it a dyanaflow transmission?

Yes, but you are only half right. After the fire;

Pontiac used the PowerGlide and;
Olds and Cadillac used the Dynaflow.

Although I did all this from memory, after I posted the above, I Googled my question and came up with the following.
