how much would you pay for a 300a thats been sitting on a dealer lot since last year, the rotors are starting to rust, has 400 miles on it , and covered in dust?
the guys at work say i could low ball for as little as $22,000.
I said "bs!"
They think that the miles make it used, its not moving, and they would be more then willing to get rid of it since its costing them money.
and i said "still, it's invoice is $30,858.."
"bah, that doesnt mean anything with a car like this"
if i could do that, i could get the damn car right now!
whats the input from the peanut gallery?

Can't resist an invitation like that...
If you get it for $22K...I'm taking you to Vegas. $22K will never happen IMHO. Yeah...they're paying interest on the inventory, but they have some time before that becomes $5K-$6K.
Make your best deal...something around $27.5 would be REALLY good with incentives.

There was peanuts? Damnit... I always miss the free food!
I'd say your friends are probably right, although I don't know about $22,000... I know there WAS one with 1500 miles on it at a dealership I chose not to do business with that looked like trash that they were willing to part with for $27,000 at the time I believe. This was about 3-4 months ago.

Well, if you're going to low ball them, why not start at an even $20k?
The rule, take a step up only after they have taken a step down.
Pick a salesman, stop by and see him alot. Take 15min of his time here, 20min. there. Keep making offers. They will come around, (and also get tired of seeing you) and cut to the chase with you.

i almost bought a truck right before i got my mm. i went and looked for about an hour talking to the sales guy. the trucks sticker was around 55000, at the end of the hour i was down to 46000, plus they were going to give me about 5 grand more than anyone else offered me on my trade in. the next day they called me at work and the price dropped another 2 grand. it was a good deal, but if id done that i wouldnt be talking to you now
Let me guess....
they were trying to GIVE you one of those :censor:ing BlackWoods

a local dealer had two Blackwoods. price dropped from over $52,000 to just over $30000. they're both sold now, and I've seen one driving around.
i looked them over when they were on the lot. Very nice actually. 50-50 weight distribution, well put together. the box wasn't as "useless" as many said. Sure you wouldn't want to be a scrap hauler with it, but that isn't the kind of vehicle it was.
After looking at the Cadillac Escalade version of a Chev Avalanche, if i were in the overpriced truck market, I'd rather have a Lincoln Blackwood
