I thought it was funny.

Dont' read too much into it.

I know this is a more complex issue than many realize.

MR. PRESIDENT, I'M HEADED TO MEXICO

Dear President Bush:

I'm about to plan a little trip with my family and extended family,
and I would like to ask you to assist me. I'm going to walk across
the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and I need to make a few
arrangements. I know you can help with this.

I plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports,
immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the
same way you do here.

So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Vicente Fox, that
I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting
the following:

1. Free medical care for my entire family.


2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might
need, whether I use them or not.


3. All government forms need to be printed in English.


4. I want my kids to be taught by English-speaking teachers.


5. Schools need to include classes on American culture and history.


6. I want my kids to see the American flag flying on the top of the
flag pole at their school with the Mexican flag flying lower down.


7. Please plan to feed my kids at school for both breakfast and
lunch.


8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy
access to government services.


9. I do not plan to have any car insurance, and I won't make any
effort to learn local traffic laws.


10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the
memo from Pres. Fox to leave me alone, please be sure that all
police officers speak English.

11. I plan to fly the U.S.. flag from my house top, put flag decals
on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not
want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.


12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes,
and don't enforce any labor laws or tax laws.


13. Please tell all the people in the country to be extremely nice
and never say a critical word about me, or about the strain I might
place on the economy.



I know this is an easy request because you already do all these
things for all the people who come to the U.S. from Mexico I am
sure that Pres. Fox won't mind returning the favor if you ask him
nicely.

However, if he gives you any trouble, just invite him to go quail
hunting with your V.P.

Guess you gotta live somewhere that's saturated by these illegal immigrants to understand the cynical humor in that post.

This area or Florida has a high population of the above. An example that touched my life was this.

In 1st grade, my daughter was recommended to test for the Gifted program. Entry to the program went like this, though I didn't know it 'till later.

White Male 135
White Female 133
Impoverished white 132 (as indicated by participation in free lunch program)
Black (M/F) 130
Impoverished Black 129
Hispanic (M/F) 127
Impoverished hispanic 125

This is real. The school called and said my yung'un got 132. Can't get in. THE SCHOOL recommended I provide the address of a relative who was under the income cap for free lunch, change the address with the school, apply for free lunch and she's in. Yer dayum right I did it! And I'd do it again.

Someone posted that joke on Crown Vic.net but it's worth reposting. Only in America, I tell you. I mean, nothing wrong with people immigrating here, we are a country of immigrants but 11 million sneaking here illegal across the border? That's something else.

It really shines a bright light on the sheer irony of it all. Yet still, no one seems to get it yet.

Some ones got to make a movie out of that post....

I disagree with you on a lot of stuff Hitchhiker, but not this. Thanks for posting it.

I'm in the same boat you are. Disagree with most everything Hitchhiker says politically but I am right on track with this thread. I live in NE Florida. Although not in a place with loads of immigrants. But I used to live in south Florida and can appreciate the humor in the thread and the fact that it is all to true...

Its really sad and shameful that it is all too true. How is it that people who dont even belong here can come in and get everything handed to them while those who have been here for generations that work their asses off, pay their taxes and barely get by just keep getting screwed? When people imigrated years ago they came here because they wanted to be here, and most of all they wanted to be Americans. They didnt come in and have everything to be handed to them and/or specially catored to them. Oh yeah, and many of them actually took the time and effort to LEARN ENGLISH. It seems all these Illegals just want whatever free ride we taxpayers will give them, but its funny that they still have the nerve to bit*h about how "unfairly" they are treated and how great their "home country" is... :bs: :mad2:

What gets me about the current situation is that all the "illegals" say "America was built by immigrants" which is true but..... those immigrants migrated here legally, learned the language, paid their taxes, didn't ask for special treatment, etc. Just my $0.02...

Good post hitchhiker; "it's funny 'cause it's true..."

Even people I know that came here from another country legally usually complain about how much better their home country is. To which I usually respond, "If it's that much better why don't you go back?" I never seem to get an answer.....

Not all of them though; for anyone else located in CT, they may know about or have seen "Ziggy" standing outside the Brass Mill Mall in Waterbury. He came here from somewhere in Eastern Europe, (I forget where specifically), but he is easily distinguished as the guy in the red, white and blue jumpsuit waving a huge American flag, and driving a similarly colored Chevy pickup with 2 more flags waving from it. He has given several speeches at local 4th of July celebrations and always tells how much he loves this country and how greatfull he is to be here. I'm not saying that every immigrant should be that excessive, but it's certainly refreshing to see.

Locals returning to N.O. are finding that they cannot find work in the rebuilding effort because most of it is going to illegal aliens from Mexico. I have followed some of these forums becasue they a forum of the local people and not government published dis-information.

The economic and social consequences of illegal immigration across the
1,940 mile long America-Mexico border are staggering. An average of 10,000
illegal aliens cross the border every day - over 3 million per year. A
third will be caught and many of them immediately will try again. About
half of those remaining will become permanent U.S. residents (3,500 per
day). Currently there are millions illegals in the U.S. A quarter-million
illegal aliens from the Middle-east currently live in the U.S, and a
growing number are entering by crossing the Mexican border. 40 and 50
percent of wage-loss among low-skilled Americans is due to the immigration
of low-skilled workers. Some native workers lose not just wages but their
jobs through immigrant competition. An estimated 1,880,000 American
workers are displaced from their jobs every year by immigration; the cost
for providing welfare and assistance to these Americans is over $15
billion a year." the average immigrant without a high school education
imposes a net fiscal burden on public coffers of $89,000 during the course
of his or her lifetime. The average immigrant with only a high school
education creates a lifetime fiscal burden of $31,000.80% of cocaine and
50% of heroin in the U.S. is smuggled across the border by Mexican
nationals. Drug cartels spend a half-billion dollars per year bribing
Mexico's corrupt generals and police officials, and armed confrontations
between the Mexican army and U.S. Border Patrol agents are a real threat.
There have been 118 documented incursions by the Mexican military over the
last five years. Illegal aliens have cost billions of taxpayer-funded
dollars for medical services. Dozens of hospitals in Texas, New Mexico
Arizona, and California, have been forced to close or face bankruptcy
because of federally-mandated programs requiring free emergency room
services to illegal aliens. Taxpayers pay half-a-billion dollars per year
incarcerating illegal alien criminals. Immigration is a net drain on the
economy; corporate interests reap the benefits of cheap labor, while
taxpayers pay the infrastructural cost. "the net annual cost of
immigration has been estimated at between $67 and $87 billion a year. The
National Academy of Sciences found that the net fiscal drain on American
taxpayers is between $166 and $226 a year per native household. Even
studies claiming some modest overall gain for the economy from immigration
($1 to $10 billion a year) have found that it is outweighed by the fiscal
cost ($15 to $20 billion a year) to native taxpayers. In the NAFTA era, a
staggering 87 percent of Mexico's exports go to the United States, while
Mexicans living in the United States send home more than $8 billion
annually. Fox has said he considers his constituency to include the 22
million to 24 million Mexicans and Mexican-Americans in the United States.
Mexican candidates now make campaign stops in U.S. cities like Los
Angeles, Phoenix and Fresno, Calif, Houston, San Antonio, & Dallas, Texas.
New Orleans is next. How can we afford it with all the problems we have
now just trying to get this city and region back to what we consider to be
acceptable and normal? $60 billion dollars are earned by illegal aliens in
the U.S. each year. One of Mexico's largest revenue streams (after exports
and oil sales) consists of money sent home by legal immigrants and illegal
aliens working in the U.S. Economists say this will help Mexico reduce its
$17.8 billion defecit and may bolster the peso. The 14th Amendment to the
U.S. Constitution reads in part, "All persons born or naturalized in the
United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of
the United States and the State wherein they reside." It's estimated there
may be over 300,000 anchor babies born each year in the U.S. Thus, illegal
alien mothers now add more to U.S. population each year than immigration
from all sources in an average year before 1965. These babies are called
anchor babies because they act as an anchor that pulls the illegal alien
mother and a host of other relatives into permanent U.S. residency. An
illegal alien mother only has to say she is "undocumented" in order to
receive immediate - and free - medical care. This is something we can’t
even afford for even native people of this country let alone this city and
state with an already strainded health care network trying to rebuild.

That first post of yours was dayum funny. I'm glad I found like.

I'm a bit surprised that you posted it here, though.

BTW- There is no such thing as gov't propoganda. You must have that confused with gov't cheese. :)
